I don’t promote anything but the truth, you know actual stuff which is happening just below ministerial level. We’re the ones who working with the agencies that give the ministers the information to keep them informed of what the benefits and consequences will be. Unfortunately the consequences outweigh the benefits, that’s not a thought, that’s actual fact and I’ve discussed it in numerous posts

And the IOM?? Really Joey?? More people at the cup final then live there
A civil servant urm no wonder..........

Talking about actual facts and things that are evidence based, must be derided as project fear or deflected away with meaningless soundbites and whataboutery. Leaver debating 101 mate.

A truly representative snapshot of the country. Bonfire of the Vanities.
Only allowed to post 20 images. If you want see them all, I'm afraid there's more, see below. But I wouldn't bother. By the end they all merge into a autumnal greying vision of Britain.

careful mate... according to some around here, posts like these are what turn people into Nazis

Sorry but you sounded as if you were indicating you were one....
Also,Imam not in for guessing games if you have information bonified then it will be from your project fear colleagues....

No it won’t mate, it works the other way.

I (the group as a collective) provide the information to them, so I know what the issues and I advise them of the potential issues and failures with certain aspects of Brexit

Do you want me to go over it again Joe, it’s only a couple of pages back. Maybe you could provide debatable arguments rather than just saying “project fear” or “we survived before EU”

If that group of Little Englanders isn't enough to put people off Brexit I pity them.

How are you helping by promoting project fear?
ask yourself this how can the IOM be not in the EU yet is doing more than ok its in the trade market but governs itself without EU interference - why can the UK not do a trade deal without the four freedoms, and trade world wide where the south east asian countries are booming.......

Why didn't you mention IOM earlier? Now I can sleep easily knowing they are similar to us and are doing ok.

Well by similar it's a bit different in the fact it is basically a tax haven that therefore brings businesses and wealthy people in. Can't see the UK putting income tax to the floor to be honest. It is pretty expensive to live there also, but with the lack of tax that must even itself out. We of course will just have the higher prices at a time when a lot of the country are already struggling. Oh well. And I guess the manufacturing side on the IOM wouldn't really stack up against the UK, I mean trade is almost exclusively with us anyhow. AND The fact that it has access to the EU free market at the moment but apart from all that you have made a very valid point...

Has Corbyn not stated we might become a tax haven .......

We did survive before the EU - fact
Ask yourself this if we were out of the EU and doing well why would we want to waste 8 million pound a day in membership fees when other countries trade with them for for nothing ?
They seldom audit there accounts
They with there unelected commissioners rough rider over there MEPs who get 2 minutes to question them ...
The Euro is in a mess - Italy , Spain and Greece in a mess - I don't think anyone would be cueing up to join a totally authoritarian Polictical talking shop which needs Two Parliments that we have contributed to at high cost for 40 years ...
There is life outside of it our trade is diminishing with them each year ......
They export to us than we do to them we voted democratically to leave - end of!

Has Corbyn not stated we might become a tax haven .......

Corbyn has said that we should not use brexit as an excuse to become a tax haven with the slashing of tax to try and attract investment. That to me sounds like a soundbite response to a hypothetical question. We could try and lower VAT rates after brexit as a stimulus to boost the economy after the shock it will face (as was done after the 2008 crash) but any reductions to the amount that flows into the government coffers needs to be carefully managed to ensure the cuts are made up with extra spending and investment. If it doesn't we could start defaulting on the national debt and from there on we would be stuffed no matter what we do.

Proper tax havens are small by nature in both population and country size so the investment doesn't just disappear in to welfare and continual investment that is required into infrastructure like repairs of roads etc. I also don't think the 1% super rich would start giving up places like Monaco to come to Britain and as much as we could drive down costs by less taxes more profits can be made by these people in other countries where wage costs will be far smaller regardless of what we do.

Yet again you’ve completely ignored the detailed information you’ve been given by someone who actually knows what they’re talking about, and you’ve just replied with the same extremely tired soundbites.

Brexiteers have become almost cult like in their complete refusal to consider actual reality. I’d have way more respect for you if you could actually concede on points that are undeniable facts, but you won’t seemingly accept that Brexit will bring any issues that are anything other than ‘mere incidentals’ you’ve completely bought the spin Joey. Either that or you’re just plain belligerent.

We survived without the EU 50 years ago Joey, the world has changed. And your looking at the situation with tunnel vision; it’s not a case of we survived before so it’ll all click back into place because we are so intertwined into it that it’s almost impossible to unravel.

You’re showing that you don’t understand the relationships between the member states. Anyway rather than you stating “we survived before brexit” why don’t you answer the below scenario and maybe you’ll see one of the hundreds of issues we may encounter:

- Port of Dover does the most trade with the eu via the cross channel routes. At present 99% of customs checks are conducted at Calais
- Dover does not have space or infrastructure to cover 100% of checks, holding 1 vehicle for more than 30 second will start a chain reaction that will eventually lead to 25 mile tailbacks due to the volume.
- On Brexit France have stated that checks cannot be conducted at Calais

How do we control this at the border??

I am not speaking in any way as an expert, or even someone who knows much about it, but to me, maintaining the current EU/UK food trade relationship should be a pretty easy thing to do.

Basically boot it into the long grass for now, (post leaving), and cobble together a more formal arrangement in the shadows. From a political points scoring angle, there really are not any worth fighting for.
Like Chris said, plus the loony ERG want to turn us into usa-istan, and have fought battles to line up the ducks to facilitate the exchange of vassalship from eu to the us. Things like taking powers from the devolved countries that the Eu were happy to leave devolved.
Imo, with an ERG fuelled no-dealer, standards, at least for importing, will change immediately, possibly using the lack of organisation as a screen, so as a consequence the EU won't permit us to export our food there, and there'll be a media uproar that will prevent us importing their food in 'retaliation'.
But Tate and Lyle with their Belize cronies will be happy.
