Was reading something earlier and noticed a reply:

This cake and eat it scenario that we had, was precisely what was rejected by the electorate in the Referendum. What wasn't so attractive to them, was the mass uncontrolled immigration, the loss of sovereignty, the inability to arrange our own trade deals, the ECJ, the CAP, the CFP, an ever closer federal EU, the EU army, etc, etc.

We will continue to trade substantially with the EU, but also through trade deals with the rest of the World.

Makes you wonder, at what cost to the UK economy will that be...

Equality and all that garbage

I see another out poster got it today all in good fun

Thats the difference @Joey66 , its not "Good Fun". To even think making a joke about equality is "funny" is the difference. Maybe its a generational thing, I dont know.

But to me, if folk think its acceptable to have fun about inequality, the next step is more worrying.

If thats Political Correctness, fine. But its Correct.

I'm going to make one final post in here until next year.

I'm going to fully explain my post so there is no misunderstanding whatsoever as to the intent in my post.

This is the post: "...Now, now, Bruce, don't be sexist! Nowadays you shouldn't say emerita without saying emeritus also. Equality and all that garbage, you know... "

OK, I'll go through this, choosing my words carefully.

Bruce only said emerita. The root of the word is from latin. There is a male and a female form of writing the word. Not complicated.

The thrust of the three sentences is at Bruce for ONLY using the female form of the latin word. That is, BRUCE needed to be following the equality line etc., because he only used one form. Perhaps I should have said 'Equality etc.', or 'Equality and all that falls from it'. That might have calmed the angst.

Whatever you wish, or whatever you think, it was ironic humour with a gentle dig AT THE INEQUALITY BRUCE SHOWED, THAT HE DIDN'T FOLLOW THE TRUE EQUALITY LINE. If you can't see that, then I'm not going to say any more on the subject. I perceive humour is defunct in this thread.

See you in here sometime next March after the sky has fallen in... (That's urine extracting humour, folks!)

Emerita is a type of animal that lives in sand. Just saying.
