1. If we revert to WTO rules we’ll have zero trade deals on the day after a no deal Brexit - fact

2. I asked for just one of the EU laws that have impinged on your life in such a way that you feel like you’re ruled by Brussels. I keep hearing people of your age spouting that soundbite but have yet to hear a single one of them name an example of what’s they’re referring to. Go on Joey name one.

Indeed, Joe seems oblivious to the fact that our WTO arrangement at the moment is based upon our EU membership. We want to retain the same arrangement when we're a much smaller trading entity, and that requires agreement from other WTO members, which there is very little likelihood that we'll get.

We’ve got to renegotiate all of the 53 trade deals that we current have via the EU, another task that’s been give the ‘doddle’ status by the glib, reckless and ill informed.

Indeed. You sense there was an impression given that it would be as simple as transitioning them over, much as the EU statute book has been moved over into UK law, but we're a very different entity individually than we are as part of the single market. Indeed, that has been one of the main reasons for wanting to leave is that by virtue of this difference we can strike deals more tailored to our individual needs. It comes with risks however, one of which undoubtedly is that we're starting from scratch. It's frankly bewildering that Davis boldly claimed that we'd have a number of deals signed already, despite all evidence of any trade negotiations anywhere in the world suggest they take several years to conclude. That people seem happy to brush all of this hubris aside suggests a frustrating rigidity in thinking even when faced with overwhelming evidence that your view of the world is misguided.

I NEED A REALLY POWERFUL VACUUM CLEANER, THEY'VE RUINED MY LIFE. GLOBAL WARMING'S FAKE NEWS AND SUPPORTS GERMAN INDUSTRY!
unlucky for people that cant get a decent vacuum cleaner, and having to pay an EU rate of !5% of vat on energy prices as they use it, hope its not the time of the month as the EU have half the population paying VAT on sanitary products , that the UK government wanted as zero rate, good old EU no affect on anyone does it.
could go on ,but its been done to death on here.
By the way German industry has broken more EU rules than we will ever do, and look up local government funding of industry over there to get around state propping up industries rules.

The EU has agreed to allow zero VAT rating on sanitary products though and the removal of the 5% VAT on domestic fuel would save the average household £60 a year. Only the removal would leave a £1.7BN hole in the treasury coffers which would need to be replaced or ‘lost’ with public spending cuts.

I thought I was the low tax, small government libertarian, not you? I'm so confused.

we will be out of the EU before the tax on sanitary products is taken off it comes into place in jan 2022.
I couldn't see this or any other Uk government lowering the vat , unless we taxed the firms owning it on profits made, or set the rate they could charge.

I agree which makes it a bit of a red herring when it comes to naming an EU law that we can’t wait to be rid of and impinges on our daily lives. The VAT saving would be dwarfed by the potential saving that renationalisation could bring to the consumer imo btw.
