Ah hahaha. Pretty certain @edge voted leave and his post was parodying how remainers go on to be honest

Maybe he was, Jimmy. Maybe he was.

Thoughts now turn increasingly to how this rambling, somewhat shambolic, Everton squad are going to perfom in the real thing soon. Let's hope Silva can pull in some gems for us so we can upset a few applecarts in the following months! ;)

Nah, not all leave voters are racist.

But I would guarantee that all racists voted to leave.

Now now, gentlemen - we're all Evertonians here.

I think all @Bruce Wayne was trying to say was is that Brexit is an aberration of contemporary consensus politics, predominantly driven by old men whose pensies no longer work so they need to take it out on the young, fitter, more sexually able people of the country by ensuring that house prices are sky high, and that we're forever constrained by student debt, and abandoning our closest economic allies.

...ultimately driven by Yoda's gonorrhoeaic butties! lol

The way some leave voters talk about the UK you'd think we were the most powerful country in the world, with the Empire still at our back. There are quite a few examples where leave voters seem to very short sighted.

I think that it’s the Remainers who are short sighted, looking only to what exists now and not looking to what could be. Many of us on here were around while we still had many parts of the Empire, and I for one would not seek to return to a period where the U.K. was responsible for a quarter of the World. I want us to be comfortable with what we are.

Take general peace across Europe as an example of the immense progress the formation of the EU has caused for the Region. Since the 2nd World War, countries who have been part of the EU have got along with each other significantly better, with the Germans and Italians being seen as our partners as opposed to our enemy. The fact that all of the main nations in the region (except for Russia) have been closely linked has helped relationships and meant that people across Europe no longer see other European Nations as a threat to them or as their enemies. Once we leave, we will weaken that alliance (not suggesting we will be plunged in to a War) and some feelings of animosity and rivalry will come back, especially if Brexit significantly weakens the UK and EU economically, which wouldn't be too surprising and has been forecast by many. We're the ones who are breaking up that relationship. I can't imagine that those other nations such as France and Germany are going to look at us and feel that same partnership they did previously.

You are on shaky ground here. The EU has done nothing to keep the peace, that was done by large American and British forces being based in Germany for many years. NATO has preserved the peace. Even now, British forces are based in the Baltic states and the RAF is effectively used as the Air Force for Romania. I agree that when we leave there may be issues, but we have tried and have promised that we are not leaving Europe, just the EU. Even though we offer this guarantee, Brussels throws it in our face...

We're choosing to go it alone and to turn our back on the biggest trading bloc in the entire world. Yes we can agree new deals after we leave but at what cost and what does it say to other non-EU nations looking at it with a neutral view? Why would the UK be seen to those nations as being stronger on our own? What do we have that makes us so impressive, or influential on the global scene that would make other non-EU nations see us as a better option for a partnership than a bloc of 27 other nations that includes Germany who have a bigger economy than us, and France who are pretty much level with us?

We are not turning our back on the biggest trading bloc, we will still trade with them. This is the biggest lie of Remainers suggesting that we will just cease trade with the EU. I don’t give a damn about a bloc of 27, we are still the 5/6th biggest economy in the World, we are still one of the two most powerful financial centres in the World and are still the 4th most powerful military as well as being a permanent member of the UN Security Council. We have soft power almost unrivalled across the globe and a network of 53 countries via the Commonwealth who account for about 30% of the worlds population. We actually have quite a lot going for us......

Remainers are fearful because the choice to leave looks most likely to be a bad decision. Forgetting allegiances, one of the main problems is how complex leaving actually is, and yet this whole decision was based around a simple Yes or No type vote. A Yes or No that was asked to people with little knowledge on the complexities and who don't specialise in trade, immigration issues or economics.

It is not that complicated, 80% has already been agreed, the only complicated bit is the political position being discussed, which will be resolved.....

The vote never mentioned the Irish Border, it didn't mention whether we would stay in the Single Market or Customs Union, And yet a lot of people in this country just think they can shout about how the country voted OUT and we can just click our fingers and all these complex issues will be resolved and we will become a prospering nation 'once again'.

This is an issue that requires both sides to address it. At the moment the EU are using it as a negotiating chip, fully supported by a rather silly leader in the ROI. The U.K. have tried, and have even put in law that there will be no hard border. We await sensible proposals from the other side who seem to be burying their heads in the sand.....

The pound has weakened since Brexit too.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...-rate-brexit-vote-worst-quarter-a8426481.html

https://www.expatica.com/nl/finance/Brexit-currency-impact-Brexit-currency-rates_811031.html

"The pound has been consistently on the decline since the results of the referendum became clear on 23 June 2016. An initial sharp drop has been followed by several slumps and a persistent overall decline, leaving GBP to EUR -15 percent than pre-referendum levels and GB to USD and GBP to AUD down -17 percent immediately after the vote."

I have been abroad several times since the vote and been worse off financially in a direct comparison due to a worse exhange rate that came about because of Brexit so that is just one example where Brexit has had a negative actual impact on my own circumstances. If you can find some positive examples on your every day life then i'd be interested to hear them.

We know this. I predicted this on the night of the vote, amid much laughing from the Remainers. The devaluation increased the UKs exports and increased employment. I’m sorry for your exchange rate problem but if the £ were to be 2$ to the £ as it was a decade or so ago, unemployment would be horrendous......

And I don't even know if I spelled that first word correctly!
Not sure if the word you said even exists without looking it up on google, but as a self named old blue, I bet you’re more concerned About the butty threat rather than you throwing your willy about catching super diseases were the EU will just stand there laughing at us “we warned you of the consequences “when our bits fall off, because we left them.

I honest to god dont recall Reported racist posts mate. If it was a direct accusation, instant ban, no question.

If it was an implied expression, as in "Not everyone who voted Out was a racist, but every racist voted Out" sort of thing, different case all together, and context etc would have been looked at.

Roydo, it’s has been implied to the point that even we Leavers now have to refer to ourselves as uneducated, old , racists......personally I’m not bothered with such childish utterances, but let’s not pretend that this hasn’t been continuous abuse. Although having said that, the Remainers also know that they are traitorous, coward snowflakes, who possess little knowledge of the world and lack any form of confidence in our country and it’s people.......

Excellent post, but what is a pensie......
