It baffles me that it's likely to be as close as it actually is.

It's becoming harder to laugh at the US so much for so many of them voting for that buffoon with the toupée

That buffoon is there because that party no longer represented its people, or at least that's what the election process seems to be telling us. The same is true for the other party as well, but the professionals over on that side know how to well and truly lock things down. When applying the evil/stupid party metaphor, remember that your own nominal party is the stupid one. Perhaps you'll find that your own parties fail to represent public sentiment in much the same way.

Good luck to Britain, no matter how this shakes out. You are our dear and treasured friends.

And if remain win, we're stuck with more of the same tripe we've had, more beuracracy.

More integrating into a federal superstate - whether we like it or not.

And it WILL happen. Not 'might' - WILL.

For a while perhaps. Then the EU will screw everything up, the lies from the remain camp will come out, remainers will feel cheated and then some bright spark wanting to win a General Election will offer us another vote........

This whole issue has exposed a divide in British politics. On one side the establishment and vested interests treating the other, mostly working class as idiots worthy of contempt.

Just voted. (Polling station in my local pub, so win win)

Went Remain, but with no real conviction, but based on my weird market research doing my deliveries these last few weeks. Chatted to tons, rich and poor, ill health, old and young. Business owners, the lot.

By a considerable margin, the folk who wanted out were a lot more unpleasant basically. One vigourous "Outer" swung it firmly for me; the line when I said that a lot of the more deprived areas might prefer to stay, (EU funding etc), "Well its about time that the places that raise the money should have a bigger portion back" made me ponder.

Lob in Farage, Boris, et al....

Scientific? No. More informative than the rubbish flung about the media? Certainly.

edit. Note, this was real world. Not casting anyone in here as "unpleasant" or anything. just the
I like your logic.

I get what you're saying Pete, but there'll be that much in-fighting in the tory party that they'll have too much on their plate.

Labour won't as they won't get the backing within their NEC, they'll be too concerned with regaining the trust of those who voted SNP, plus they're majority pro-EU anyway, and the liberals...Say n'more.

I can't see UKIP making swathing gains, another referendum in their manifesto from them or not.

The EU will bollox things up further, though.
