True enough. What I find incredible is just how many of our elected representatives appear to still have such gaping holes in their knowledge around the subject.

As a perfect example of that, the Govts detailed analysis into the outcomes, both fiscal and operational of the various Brexit outcomes, for each sector, hasn’t been put into the public domain. However, it’s been made available for all MP’s to read through in the Commons library. They have to sign in, in order to get access to it. As of last week, the number who had bothered themselves to read it out of 650 was???.............39 or 6%.

Is it any wonder they’re still mostly talking in riddles and using baseless emotive and populist claptrap instead of reasoned and rational argument?

That is pretty depressing for the entire house, leave or remain. These are the fools we're giving back control to?

Still heading towards another referendum or a defining election on Brexit. All this to get current number 10 to summer recess. And Civil war in the Uk establishment.;)

Worse still, that number is way less than the number who are advocating a no deal Brexit.

So not even those who are telling the country that this is the way to go, have bothered to arm themselves with the actual facts of what that would look like!

These gung ho lunatics should be made accountable, starting with the insistence that the gob on a stick Mogg and his ERG group , should produce their own white paper on what their version of Brexit is actually supposed to deliver and the impacts it’ll bring with it. They need calling out.

Anna Soubry was full on rant mode on Today this morning, saying Rees Mogg is effectively running the country.

She’s not wrong either, and the motives of him and his cohorts need thorough examination.

This piece from the excellent Richard North (a Leaver btw) shreds much of Rees Mogg’s misleading sales pitch

In this one he examines the background of one of the main ‘think tanks’ who are also pushing this mantra - Legatum.

I would bet my house that Mogg and May have read every document related to Brexit and fully understands the implications, would you say the same about Corbyn and Abbott.........

If Rees Mogg has read all of the impact analysis and fully examined every scrap of detail around the implications of his chosen path, then why does he spout such ill informed contradictory nonsense? If he has read every document available then he’s a disingenuous liar mate.

You’re conflating voting against Brexit with votes on a white paper amendment.

The shouting of out at all costs Brexiteers is pushing this country towards a disaster, and you appear to back that stance as you’re seemingly incapable of separating anyone who’s questioning the negotiating stance with an ‘enemy of democracy’. It’s utterly ludicrous.
Project fear keep pedaling it........

The Lib Dems have been roundly rubbish though. Indeed, as a liberal, it's hard to find anyone in parliament to throw my hat in with, but as a practical it's even harder to find anyone remotely competent at their job. At such an important moment in our history, it really is dire stuff.
I honestly can't find one party to vote for watch them "debate" is like watching Children in the playground at primary School tbh....
all this fuss , and we have a botched paper to take to the EU - if the timeline was plentiful it may not be so bad it will have to be a last minute deal - then can you see that lot agreeing to anything?...........

Lets be honest, the referendum itself was a Janet & John analysis of Brexit for people who don't understand it, and appealed largely to emotion, so it's hardly surprising that the 2 years hence have been largely played out in the same way.
If Remain had won by that result a few moans, and we would be in the EU soubry constituency voted out - I remember her shocked face the morning after - Right she stated we will have to listen to the will of the people .......
she has behaved like a deranged Witch ..........
her mask hasn't dropped but her face lift is crumblinglol

Project fear keep pedaling it........
If we end up going down that route I shall enjoy reminding you of your constant dismissal of fact as being some form of conspiracy.

In the meantime you keep your head in the sand mate. Debating this subject with you is utterly futile as you've lost any form of subjectivity as you're a full blown Brexit apostle.

It will not happen - right because if tariffs under WTO rules apply the EU will lose a 39 billion divorce payment , and end up paying more on tariffs as we do as the export more to us than we export to them and the chaos of it all would hurt their businesses as well as ours - a last minute deal will be done and we have the transition period to go into - calm down a deal will be done under any polictical party - its the type of deal that the squabbling is about as our politicians are looking for power to carry it out imo!

Theresa May’s Conservative Party has taken £5.3 million from donors that handed millions to the Vote Leave campaign.
The donations could constitute a conflict of interest as the Conservatives face calls to launch a full investigation into Vote Leave in light of an Electoral Commission rulingthat they broke the law by exceeding spending limits.
It also raises further questions about the cooperation of senior Conservative figures with a possible police investigation. Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab, Trade Secretary Liam Fox, Michael Gove and Boris Johnson all sat on Vote Leave’s campaign committeeand could face questioning.
Fifteen of the Conservative Party’s top donors donated £3,757,000 to Vote Leave in the referendum, and since then have handed Theresa May’s Conservatives a further £5,287,740.
JCB
Tories: £2,592,944
Vote Leave: £600,000
The Bamford family, owners of excavator firm JCB, are one of the biggest donors to the Conservative Party. As well as financially supporting Vote Leave in the referendum, Lord Bamford wrote to his staff telling them to back Brexit.
Peter Cruddas
Tories: £450,000
Vote Leave: £350,000
City tycoon Peter Cruddas was a Conservative Party Treasurer until he was reported to have “corruptly offered access to David Cameron in exchange for donations”, and he remains a significant donor to the party. As well as donating to Vote Leave himself, he worked as the campaign’s co-treasurer.
Michael Hintze
Tories: £382,973
Vote Leave: £100,000
Hedge fund billionaire Michael Hintze used to dine with David Cameron and used to offer Brexiteer Trade Secretary Liam Fox rides in his private jet. Ahead of the referendum, it was reported that hedge funds stood to “bank million more pounds a year in the event of a so-called ‘Brexit’”.
Michael Farmer
Tories: £323,000
Vote Leave: £300,000
Another multi-millionaire hedge fund chief, Michael Farmer was a former Tory treasurer and bankrolled his Bullingdon Boy son’s Oxford University Conservative club. In October he warned Theresa May against “another unsatisfactory and unfavourable deal” with Europe, and claimed that a no deal Brexit could “free” and “challenge” Britain.
Lord Edmiston
Tories: £321,180
Vote Leave: £850,000
Property and motoring billionaire Lord Edmiston was made a Tory life peer in 2011. He has since quit the Lords but continues to support the party financially. At the referendum he announced he would be giving a total of £1 million to various Brexit campaigns, accepting that Brexit would cause a “re-adjustment” but convinced that a “world of opportunity” would “open up for business once it is unshackled from burdensome EU regulation”.
David Ord
Tories: £318,500
Vote Leave: £50,000
David Ord, millionaire owner of the Bristol Port Company, received a knighthood after giving £930,000 to the Conservatives. He signed a letter in June telling Theresa May to “issue instructions to UK authorities to accelerate their preparations for no deal”.
Henry Keswick & Family
Tories: £197,239
Vote Leave: £20,000
Eton-educated billionaire Henry Keswick is a member of the Keswick family who own the Jardine Mathesontrading company and originally made their fortune in Victorian Britain’s Opium Wars with China. He and his wife have donated significant sums to the Tories, but has said little of his reasons for bankrolling the Vote Leave campaign.
Jeremy Hosking
Tories: £130,000
Vote Leave: £916,500
Multimillionaire City asset manager Jeremy Hosking used his influence with the Conservatives to call on Theresa May to resign to save Brexit in May. He funded Brexiteer Conservative candidates going up against Remain MPs in the 2017 election as part of a bid to secure Brexit, despite the fact he admits “there might be some short-term economic pain”.
Hardy McLain
Tories: £129,000
Vote Leave: £10,000
Matthew Ferrey
Tories: £109,000
Vote Leave: £10,000
