The Irish border issue is our problem as it’s of our making.

It’s taken this shower over 2 years to agree a negotiating stance ffs and they’ve still not managed it! and you reckon that’s somehow the EU’s fault? lol

The border problem is a result of 17.4million people in the U.K. voting for Brexit, remembering of course that 44% of the NI populace also voted for Brexit. The U.K. have offered up a number of potential solutions, all rejected by the EU. If we have a hard Brexit and just walk away, the U.K. has already put in law that it will not put a hard border in place. The ROI has said that it won’t either, so that just leaves the bureaucrats in the EU. If we fall out of the EU with no deal then the ‘problem’ will be one for the ROI and the EU to resolve......

Speaking of the border Pete, what did you make of the migration figures yesterday showing that non-EU migration has gone up, despite continued calls by the government that it should be reduced to about 20% of current levels, and 30% of non-EU levels? Do you think this damages their credibility as agents of 'managing immigration'?

Kate Hoey is my MP, and she has been a fantastic constituency MP, but she is really going to get hammered for this at the next election. Field as well.

I’ve always admired Kate Hoey as an MP, Frank Field as well. It would be a shame if she were to suffer, which I doubt incidentally, and Frank Field represents the only area of the Wirral that voted to leave so he will be ok......

Every government speaks of reducing migration, but no government ever has. If there are jobs unfulfilled in the U.K. it will continue......

With respect though, being able to 'manage migration', which is thinly veiled code for reducing it significantly, was a central tranche of the decision to leave, so do you neither think it's going to happen or that the government are able to do so?

No it won't. As if we 'fall out of the EU' we'll revert to WTO rules that require us to protect our border. I've no idea (and neither has anyone else) how we can comply without a hard border, which we've now prohibited by UK law. So we'd be in breach of WTO rules from day 1.

It's all going swimmingly though lol

It had no influence at all upon my reason to vote Leave. I believe the government will be as incompetent as ever in this matter even after we have left.....

So if we are in breach of WTO rules then so be it, the ROI and EU will be too because the ROI will not put a hard border in........

Exactly what Johnny Weissmuller said when he landed the part of Tarzan !

The potential Leave campaign prosecutions are small beer compared to where the Leave.eu investigations could and hopefully will end up.

Follow the money.....
Can't see anywhere the total of £9 million for pamphlets to every home posted by Remain .......ie the government....
With utter government pro remain propaganda warning the voters that if you voted Brexit you would be voting for leaving the Single Market , and the. Customs Union........
