This was all inevitable.
Sadly true, same as this latest nonsense, the government will tear itself.apart ,then the EU will say no anyway so it will be a waste of time.
Soft arse May hasn't got a clue, hasn't since day one , how she got elected after her showing is a mystery to me, and a sad day when labour couldn't take advantage of the situation.
I don't think she has made a right call yet.
She has missled her own party , because she doesn't believe in Brexit, and is ironically now going full tilt towards a hard Brexit because she is a clown, who is only interested in keeping her own position.

I doubt we'll see a weaker PM again in any of our lifetimes - both in terms of parliamentary arithmetic and political ability. She's atrocious.

Agreeing to those amendments from Rees-Mogg is the latest in a long line of staggeringly bad moments for her premiership - so much so that now it's difficult to even raise an eyebrow when something like this happens.

Sorry, what?

She is only in this state because Labour did vastly better than expectations (including most posters here) at the snap election she called and had overwhelming financial and media backing for - to the extent that all the fault lines in her party are now visible. If Corbyn had been as useless as was loudly and repeatedly proclaimed her majority would have been so big that the Rees-Moggs of this world could have been drowned under a tide of oleaginous backbench Yes-cretins.

Instead now we have a situation where Brexit, hard or soft, has no majority in the Commons. Thanks to Labour.

Not entirely sure Brexit would have a majority support in the HOC no matter who won the GE

“Wow, the Americans got wrecked by Putin at the last election and everyone can see it. Well, that certainly didn’t happen to us with the Brexit vote! Let’s plow ahead with ruining our own country.”

Whilst I don’t agree with how Greenings 3 way vote works, I can’t diagree with her conclusion as to where this is going.

Parliamentary deadlock.

The May deal won’t get through the Commons even if in the unlikely event that it got past Brussels!

No deal won’t get through the House either.

So where does that leave us? Maybe passing this back to the people in some form is the way to go.

The 3 way, vote for 2 options proposal doesn’t work though, as the May proposal would win by default. As Brexiteers aren’t going to vote stay in as their second pick and Remainers aren’t going to pick no deal as theirs. So the middle ground vote would win.

The only way of having a vote on this would be for a 2 question vote imo.

1. Accept Mays final proposal or not, a simple yes or no.

The second question would then be - in the event of the final proposal being rejected in the referendum then what would be your preferred outcome?

a) a no deal exit
b) stay in the EU

Job done.

For the EU ...google it they have a history of reversing referendum results - not this time though the way they have behaved has hardened the out vote imo
If out did win we would be back to square one or would it be the best of three?
If Remain did win we would go back on far worse terms ......
Plus as I stated you would have to reverse an act of Parliment, and article 50
There would be legal battles everywhere......
I agree it's a mess I stated from day one it should have been a coalition of Labour brexiteers and Tory brexiteers negotiating with the EU.....

Opportunism is what your post suggest by Corbyn he quite rightly is watching the government, but not putting a viable Brexit bill on the table when he gets in the work of leaving the EU will be done for his nationalisation.......
