I think a lot of British people have a different understanding of the word "selfish". The U.K. consistently ranks as one of the most unequal countries in the E.U. I don't know another (developed) European country where class still plays a role to that extent. Underclass, working class, middle class, upper class ... Inequality is still increasing. What I am trying to say is that if you accept inequality in your own country, it's quite unlikely that you would care about wealth redistribution/whatever to [insert name of the country - so I don't offend anyone]. Unrelated note to the whole E.U./ foreign aid debate.

This is not a criticism. I also don't have an issue with Brexit - as I've said before.

The last time the Irish 'looked important' and wanted to do what was best for them instead of for the UK. This happened when the Uk was didn't give a 'crap'.

UVF claimed MI5 urged it to kill former Irish PM, state papers reveal ...

"The organisation claimed the MI5 plot was aimed at destroying the “Eire economy”. It said British intelligence planned to provide it with a spoon of “Anthras” (sic), “Foort and Mouth Disease”, “Fowl Pest, Swine Fever and Jaagsikpi” to be released in Ireland". Is that what you mean by 'screwed'?

Whatever......It gets to a point where the Irish play this card so often that everyone becomes bored with your constant demands and moans, a bit like the SNP. Eventually when a deal is about to be done, the EU will play it ‘one more time’ and the U.K. just won’t be bothered, most U.K. nationals are already fed up with the ROI anyway.......
