OMG! I left out the letters 'IMO' in my post so you've "caught me out."

What a superb piece of detective work. Wow, this must have really made your day. Many congratulations to you sir.

Sarcasm doesn't become you. You don't have the wit to carry it off.

And you tried a dig at another member, and when picked up on it, you didn't like it one little bit. If you can't take it, don't dish it in the first place!

1. To repeat - I said that to only look at the EU in the context of making a profit was selfish.

2. You're reallly working hard today to catch people out aren't you.

1. Go read the original post you replied to. You accused the other member of being selfish simply because he pointed out that we do not get the same amount out as we put in.

2. Not really. People like you trip yourself up all the time. Great fun! ;) :)

You're getting very personal dear, what's the problem ?

If you don't agree with what someone says just say so. You know I meant it as an opinion not a fact, so you do yourself no favours by descending to the 'but you stated it as fact not opinion' argument. It makes you look silly.

I took issue with his assertion that he would be happy to be in the EU if it was only comprised of its richest members, which to me is a selfish attitude. He is quite capable of disagreeing with me himself without you trying to nitpick your way throught my words, so please desist.

You need help pal if launching personal attacks is the way you get your kicks. You make yourself look extremely foolish.

Don't call me 'dear', what's YOUR problem.

You are obviously someone who thouht he could dish out some crap to pete without anything coming back at you. WhenI responded, you turn to insults like 'pedantic', when my postes were nothing of the sort.

I did not agree with some of the things you posted, and said so. If you decide to say something, you cannot impute into something now, words that were not there originally. That is not logical.

This was the conversation:
"pete: These EU funds came from the U.K., we sent them to Brussels, they sent less of them back. Merseyside has received no funds that were generated by or were given as a gift from the EU.....it was our own money... you will find this out soon enough when you are a net contributor to the club........

Your reply: What a terribly selfish attitude to have."

You're making this up as you go along, aren't you?

First of all, this comment is not acceptable: "...You need help pal..."

Secondly, I have not launched personal attacks. You simply did not like being picked up on the comments made to pete. I have responded to all your posts in a reasonable (and occasionally humorous) manner.

I believe you are the one who is looking foolish by continuing to post as you do.

No, I was discussing with him the merits and demerits of the EU being comprised of only rich nations. Him, that is, not you. Give it a rest lad.

Did not like ? So you expected me to ignore your ridiculous accusations ? Your sense of humour needs a lot of work doing to it.

At the risk of... oh, you know. THIS is what I responded to (posting it again!):
"pete: These EU funds came from the U.K., we sent them to Brussels, they sent less of them back. I suggest you give it a rest. What I quoted of pete above is fact. We contribute a certain amount; we get a certain amount back as rebate (not the full amount). I reply, you said 'What a terribly selfish attitude to have'. Now that's pretty clear to me...

Yep, that's right. Did you expect your comment to be picked up? Your responses show that you obviously 'did not like' being challenged on them.

I did not post ridiculous accusations, I posted sensibly based on what you said.

You do not know me at all, so your comment about my sense of humour is groundless. Insults again, I see.
