Unfortunately a lot of Brits are self-deprecating and that shows in public opinion on the negotiations.
I think the German MEP in the embed on the following article absolutely nails it;
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-41733429
Tusk once again has shown himself to be a total meff and utter 100% turd. And people STILL want to remain a part of an organisation that has this guy, and other clowns, calling the shots? Beggers belief...
Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson is your Foreign Secretary.
Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson is your Foreign Secretary.
He’s got a foreign name.....![]()
And your point is...?
And quite a damn good one too.........
He’s got a foreign name.....![]()
Just painting a picture here lads.
You're calling Tusk a clown, "a total meff and utter 100% turd", i'm calling Boris Johnson the same. At least Tusk acts like a politician, you may disagree with his views, but he doesn't resort to name-calling.
Oh, and nobody cares about the foreign name. English DNA is 1/3rd Anglo-Saxon anyway.
I agree about Johnson. No problem with that.
Tusk acts like a politician? The clown variety, yes. It is patently obvious from the moment he opens his mouth about Brexit or the UK that there is a barely contained hatred of us. He is totally pissed-off that we have snubbed his precious EU.
As for the foreign name, well you did quote Boris's in your post. And mine ain't Anglo-Saxon...![]()
Don't believe there's any hatred in it, but he is a 100% pro-EU politician and he obviously wants/wanted the UK to be a part of it.
Clown and hatred is a bit much though. To me he appears gutted that he has to structure a deal that'll benefit the EU going forward at the cost of the UK.
We agree to differ, Fed. To hear him talk of 'defeat' in that latest speech doesn't sound to me to be the words of a sensible politician. In recent weeks when there has been talks aimed at moving things forward, and what appears to be a cautious approach from both sides to moving forward, he comes out with that.
I don't believe he's gutted about anything regarding the welfare of the UK, quite the opposite, I believe. He's gutted that he & the EU will be losing a shoal of dosh from the UK, that's all.
The guy is a clown. He talked in that speech of 'no Brexit'. A Government official countered that quite quickly by saying there will be Brexit. That's where the guy is a clown - to publicly say such a thing in the first place. Is he trying to undermine the Government of this country? Sounds like it to me...
The cult of Brexit
Regarding the dosh. Both the EU and the UK are hopefully going to be fine after all of this is over. I just hope that the proclamations and promises made by the leave-politicians will come to benefit the people when all is said and done.
Regarding the "no-Brexit" - Brexit part you're talking about, I can kind of see where he's coming from. The way the negotiations are portrayed in both British and International media makes it seem like a shambolic madhouse. Honestly, nothing seems certain.
And I don't think he's undermining the decision of the UK yet. He's talking negative about it, sure and he's quite surely trying to use it to his own advantage. But until it is set in stone and Brexit is done and dusted, the EU and it's pro-EU politicians will obviously try to benefit from the uncertainty that a 49/51 split vote creates within a democracy.
