It's looking like the EU are throwing May's offer back in her face with their usual calls for 'more detail' and 'not enough progress to discuss trade'. Ian Duncan Smith is absolutely right to now say that we should tell them if discussions on trade do not start in December then we will cease negotiations and put all of our efforts into preparing for a no deal......

Do you think May's speech represents job done on things like citizens rights, the Irish border etc.?

They're asking for more detail, as there was no detail. The far right press and the crazed Brexiteers have leapt on his comment as if it's unreasonable. It's far from unreasonable, he said it was progress but they needed to hear the detail around some of the salient points, which is a perfectly reasonable request.

I've noticed a real panic amongst the hardline Brexiteers in the last few days, they're desperate to force their will and gain the 'no deal' hard Brexit that for some reason they appear to crave. Personally I think they're cacking themselves that the tide is turning against Brexit and they want to force it through at any cost now, in case democracy rears it's ugly head again in a couple of years time. God forbid eh.....

There was no offer, so I'm baffled how you can think one has been 'thrown back'.

Why would that be ? At the time of the vote, every part of the state propaganda, the Government and the BBC were telling us of dire consequences. None of that happened. Everyone was denying that the EU wanted its own army, ever closer union or movement towards the Euro. All of this is happening. So why would people want to remain ?......

Of course there was an offer, she offered to pay into the budget for another two years, she offered the ECJ prior judgements to be taken into consideration. What more do you think she should offer, bearing in mind she's on your side ?.....

That's not an offer. That's a speech - basically rhetoric. There's been no negotiated offer to the EU.

All May did was publicly beg for mercy when it became increasingly clear that the idiots were up crap creek without a paddle on the whole thing.

And she's not on my side - she's on the side of the backbench, profiteering, right wing Tories who want this utter disaster to happen so they can race the UK to the bottom and make millions off the backs of the poor.

The pound has tanked, growth has slowed, foreign investment has dried up, the banking sector are actively planning to relocate jobs to the EU, inflation is up, disposable income is being squeezed, consumer spending is slowing.......yeah none of it Pete.

The latest polls show that if there was another vote tomorrow Remain would win. If that vote came in 2/3 years time - when over 2m youngsters would be added to the electoral role since June 2016, and over 1m leave voters would be in the ground, Remain would walk it.
