The conservatives have been doing that for 10 years though. I don't think in all the time Cameron has been tory leader i have seen his arguments not contain 'it's labours fault'. Even in the last election, watching all the debates and whatnot he just seemed to continually attack the labour government from at that point 6 years prior.There's a risk of the Tories veering right and being extremely socially conservative, and Labour veering left and being very fiscally conservative, with both groups essentially blaming others for the problems of the electorate.
