Dude, I saw the joke, it was hi-larious. I was referring to your rant about Scottish independence before it.
Out of interest Joey, what do you think will happen in Northern Ireland post brexit?
Borders will stay open as the days when they had the currency of the punt - no problem should arise unless people yark on about it!
Especially the Remoaners who cannot accept the democratic vote of the UK!

That is a fair point actually... though I wouldn't say only. And don't get me wrong, it's disgraceful how the Germans have destroyed Greece in order to indirectly bail out their banks, without having to admit that they bailed out their banks. My point though is that German (or Scandinavian, or French) civil society would never tolerate what's been imposed on Britain.

Interestingly, Germany was horrified to relinquish the Deutschmark - they had to be guilted into it as a sort of final apology for the war - and indeed, their economy slowed, initially. Much of the average German's lack of sympathy for Southern Europe comes from the idea that "we had to tighten our belts so you could have the Euro, and we turned out okay, so now you have to get your act together too."

I'm interested in your comment. What do you mean they "would never tolerate what's been imposed on Britain"?

Nah Joey, that's naughty. He clearly preceded it with 'there is a concern that...', though I would ask who has raised these concerns, and is it a genuine concern or just more baseless accusations being slung at Brexit?
look the French negotiator was asked a simple question on monday he stated no problem the borders will stay open as under the good Friday agreement, so why is this being stirred up that's my point?
there should be no concerns you do not try to stir up a hornets nest with the past history that's my point if the top EU negotiator stated that no problems the border can stay ope as it is now!!

I don't get how the border can remain open after we leave. It would seem rather silly to clamp down on places like Calais, but leave the only land border open for anyone who wants to walk into the UK.

after we have left access to the UK will be a different kettle of fish passport wise work visa etc etc it will be worked out imo so the irish are not punished in their freedom of movement north and south!

They'll be punished if they have to face passport control every time they cross the border, which they'd surely have to do, to filter out the Irish from the border-jumpers.

I just can't fathom how it'll work practically.

I think you're right. Doesn't make any sense to leave a huge stretch of border between the EU and UK open especially when immigration seems to be a huge deal for the English.
I'm from Louth, grew up close to the border and although I would hate to see it, I fear a hard border would lead us back to a dark place we thought was behind us.
I dont think a lot of English voters considered these consequences when they voted to leave. Forget stopping wars on the continent, membership of the EU has helped stop a war on our doorsteps.

Merkel is in panic mode. Her burgha talk is clear indication

Agreed. Out of interest why does everyone on here think she allowed the amount of immigration she did? Was it a caring benevolence to the plight of refugees or was it for economic reasons because of the demographics of the German population and the financial need for extra immigration? I don't know so am genuinely curious what people think.

I cant fathom it out either. I hope something can be worked out as I wouldn't want to see a negative consequence of Brexit.
