Is it? Do you not think a lot of people voted for change as they were unhappy with their lot?

As I do, the disparity between the top and the bottom of the social spectrum has grown ever wider, many working class people voted for change to the status quo imo. Only I think they shot the wrong rabbit.

No they clearly 17.5 million in a massive turn out voted OUT!

I do believe once again, Esk, you are not telling the whole story here, but rather, you are framing things according to how your views shape up.

After WW2, the male population had decreased, and there was a requirement to build up the population again. Hence the 'open door' policy of free movement into Britain.

The diminution of the population also resulted in the introduction of Family Allowance, to encourage population growth once again.

Whatever the circumstances, the principles still apply that freedom of movement of people benefits economies. The fact that the British Nationality Act 1948 remained unchanged on the statute book until 1962 with the Commonwealth Immigrants Act and ultimately the Immigration Act of 1972 suggests that this, contrary to your assertion, was not just a short term response to immediate labour requirements after the war but an acknowledgement of the economic benefits of migration and freedom of movement.

Let's be quite clear and brutal about this, and not dress it up in fancy words,eh?

Those two things I mentioned happened because of the number of deaths of our military & civilian men in WW2, that was the reason.

Yes JCB for the UK did a trade deal outside the EU and got fined by the EU Political dogma gone mad imo!

Not for the first time, that isn't true at all. I appreciate this is a post-truth world and all, but we must try not to simply make things up. They were fined because they had a number of distributors throughout Europe, and they prohibited those distributors from selling outside of their territories.

"The commission found that JCB had placed restrictions on distributors to limit sales outside their territories. The restrictions then prevented buyers of the distinctive yellow diggers and earthmovers from shopping around to take advantage of price variations in different member states.

The commission said JCB, the world's fifth-largest maker of heavy plant machinery, had "illegal agreements" with its network of independent authorised distributors in "at least" Great Britain and Ireland, France and Italy.

It said JCB also interfered with the freedom to set resale prices and discounts across different territories and had bonus and fee systems which disadvantaged out-of-territory sales"

Still an EU POLICTICAL BODY sticking the noses in with their rediculous rules on trade outside the EU that's why we need free WTO trade!

They were sticking their nose into EU trade, and in particular their distributor network in GB&NI, France & Italy. There's no mention of an outside nation, so I'm not sure quite what's winding you up about it o_O

a patsy fetched the case to the high court a supposed Outer who was financing it????????????
ever heard the saying the Law is an ass?
Look what ever happens in the supreme court win or lose for article 50 it will be a blip either way I was saying it was a waste of time to go there as the EU negotiator today stated they will determine what exit we have its all immaterial imo just accept the democratic vote of OUT!

Again Joey it's nothing to do with accepting or not accepting the vote.

Not sure why you keep bringing that up in relation to the case

No it's about the super rich not socialist the working man defying the OUT vote looking for loopholes with their millions it just shows you how the EU influences rich people who want to stay in it by using loopholes in the law - What worries me is if Labour stick a poor amendment in to block article 50 in a GE they will get wiped out!

Open to the world.

The Secretary of State for Health, Jeremy Hunt, has today (6 December 2016) witnessed the signing of a new UK-China hospital partnership that will further strengthen UK-China relations.

The UK’s International Hospitals Group (IHG) and China’s Dalian Wanda Group have deepened their relationship by signing a 20 year joint venture to operate the first of Wanda's hospitals, the Qingdao Wanda IHG International Hospital, in Shandong Province.

This new JV agreement is further to the signing of a RMB15 billion cooperation contract on 6th January 2016 in Beijing, between IHG and Wanda to design, construct, equip and operate 10 hospitals in China with Wanda’s role being owner and IHG’s role being operator. The agreement was witnessed by the U.K. Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond and Wanda's Chairman, Wang Jianlin.

The new operational JV, signed today, is for the first of these ten hospitals in Qingdao. The JV is 70% owned by IHG and 30% by Wanda. It is expected to generate revenues of over RMB 4 Billion (GBP 450 million) over the first 7 years of the 20 year life of the joint venture. The 200-bed hospital, located close to Wanda's new movie metropolis in the Huangdao District of Qingdao, will open in 2018.

This will also be the first project that will benefit from IHG's collaboration with Cambridge University Judge Business School to deliver innovative leadership programmes to equip the next generation of clinical leaders in China with skills to meet the global challenges of 21st Century healthcare for the benefit of patients in China.

Hertford King, CEO of IHG, said: "The decision for IHG and Wanda to establish an operational joint venture in addition to its existing 10 hospital development agreement is a reflection of the mutual confidence and trust that has grown between our two companies. It is our desire to work together to establish one of China's leading hospitals, delivering the best international standards and supported by our strategic partners in the UK’s NHS.”
