The post I replied to was saying we should have offered for Haaland and given he went to RB Salzburg it is worthwhile to suggest that he may have picked that team over us because they're better at developing players than we are. In context it makes sense.

If you want to compare us to those teams I don't think we are necessarily doing better though.

The player they signed at 20 and sold at 22 for 3 times as much who went straight to the PL and scored double digit goals every season? Yeah I'm saying they produced him. Silly me I guess.

Rooney, Barkley, Osman, Hibbert, Tom Davies, Richarlison, DCL, Kean, Iwobi, Jagielka, Baines, Lundstrum, Duffy, Lookman, Vlasic

Haaland, Mane.

We win.

Even if you give us all of those, which some clearly should not be credited to us, that's a grim grim list. Basically Rooney, Baines (who probably shouldn't be on it), Richarlison and DCL who are actually CL level players.

In two decades.

This is your opening comment which completely disses Everton and ignores the fact we play in a notoriously stronger league where within that league we're always right up the top for youth minutes:

Also, Sadio Mane was produced at the world famous Metz academy.
Playing in a strong league doesn't mean you can't produce players. That's an utter myth. Borussia Dortmund and RBL do it while also being in CL knockouts. It isn't an excuse.

Mane scored two first team goals before going to Salzburg. He clearly got a whole lot better there. I guess you can say none of the players that Salzburg developed are theirs since technically all of them will have played somewhere else, but I'm not going to do that. Clearly a set up that is conducive to having players get better and turn into top level players.

No it doesn't mean you can't and guess what? We produce players. I'm sure we'd have more of our U23's getting minutes if the league wasn't a piece of cake. Example being 2nd placed RB Salzburg got smacked 4-1 by 10th placed in the Bundesliga Frankfurt. They're easier leagues and that isn't even debatable.

Mane spent 2 years in Austria and 2 years at Saints, why did one produce him but not the other?

You normally talk, mostly, with logic but your logic flies out of the window when discussing a handful of players you're emotionally attached to.

He just wants to call out Evertons yoot set up ever since Lookman.

Its like he needs to blame the club for the player, its amazing.

Salzburg also sold their best two players in January. Before that they were competitive in a CL group with Napoli and the RS.

I mean if you want to argue Saints were more important feel free. I'd say Salzburg because his talent really started to show there, but Metz is just an lol suggestion when they weren't a top flight team at the time and he had barely played first team football when he left.

We produce far too few top level players imo. I don't think it is so controversial to say that a team that in the past decade has produced a World XI player and a probable Golden Boy winner might be slightly better at doing that than we are. I get being a bit pissed that an Austrian team can accomplish that but no real point in lying about it.

It's almost like it has more to do with Everton not having the money to compete unless they can make the players they sign be better players than they start as when they show up here and we aren't doing that regularly. Basically right now our signings improving is a coin flip and that is simply never going to be good enough.

They didnt produce them tho, they just bought them.

On 31 August 2012, Mané moved to Austrian Bundesliga side Red Bull Salzburg for the third biggest transfer fee that FC Metz had ever received.

You said they produced him cos they sold him for 3 times his purchase price, so did Southampton.

We have a different definition of producing players, so im gonna leave this here.

I used Metz because it was just as relevant as Salzburg in the production discussion.

Who's the World XI player? Mane? Again, how's he "produced" by them. I'm not remotely pissed at what Salzburg get up to just find you chastising Everton's youth successes really bizarre when you're supposedly a fan of us. We've done it better than anyone in the league one could argue.

Where as signing young promising players isnt a coin flip?

Cos they all 100% make it, right?
