I think I might be a terrible person because as much as I know I should care about all of this, I’m really not that fussed. If anything I’m getting fed up of hearing about it at every turn.

Was thinking about this earlier and is there anything out there that shows how much fossil fuel consumption will increase in emerging economies over the next 20 or so years? Surely African countries, China, India, Vietnam, Indonesia, Brazil etc are going to be using even more fossil fuels?
Even if the most developed countries manage to reach zero by 2050 won't overall consumption be similar or larger?
This isn't meant to be a 'what about them' comment but I just can't see how its going to work.

It's a desperately uninteresting subject full of earnest, serious words. Even national treasure David Attenborough is really boring to listen to.
Having said that I am pretty environmentally aware with the recycling and all that and eating less red meat. That's a health thing though and in my own interests.

The most global warming is in Glasgow a lot of hot air, right sentiments- talk is cheap .......
I don’t drive, rarely fly, buy hardly any consumer goods, eat a lot less meat than I did, recycle. Just fed up with the constant babble - and listening to Boris, Prince Charles, etc, talk about it is a hoot.

It's an easy point and probably made too much, but it's hilarious all these people fly in on private jets with large security details for something that could easily be done via zoom.
But that doesn't give them the pageantry and all the self aggrandizing and pats on the back that go on at all these summits

She got to Glasgow by train from London. Can’t say how she got to London but I would imagine train or boat but she’s been pretty open about not flying. She has sailed to and from the US when she has gone there recently.

She is not really on my radar have strong willed daughter of my own so that's enough for me... However find it odd how she winds up older men in the right of the political spectrum, creepy actually! Greta is normally correct, load of old nonsense COP26, private jets for the PM, your President with dozens of cars. And lot of old waffle about pledges with no legal teeth.
