Solar power is cheaper, especially when you factor in the cost of managing the waste indefinitely, which never is factored into any discussion around nuclear.
What capacity does solar have to power the entire country do you think? I read an article not long a go about these small scale nuclear plants they could possibly build just to power one city at a time type thing. like £100 million to power just liverpool etc etc.. I'd just launch nuclear waste in to space! lol

It would be feasible. The average house has easily enough external space to install a sufficient number of panels to power the house. The Swedish company I spoke to yesterday is installing solar arrays at various industrial facilities, from Microsoft to Toyota, to help them create more of their own energy as well. That's the thing with Johnson, he's full of bullshit and no concrete action. It'd be fairly easy, for instance, to mandate all new homes to have solar panels on the roof. They don't do that though.

Well that's just it, why are we not utilising the provision of 'free' power from the sun more? I'm still of the thinking that a lot of these Solar installers are still a con, like they used to be and also that power companies don't want us getting our own power source!

A guy I knew who had panels installed on his roof said it was the best financial decision he’d ever made. He was about to go bankrupt mind you.

The price of the technology fell by around 80% during the last decade as well, so it's only getting more affordable and more efficient.

Hmmm... Ive a large 20 foot garden building that is prime for panels facing south. Do you think its actually worth me considering getting some fitted? Are they too heavy for a wooden roof do you know?

Our house roof has a dormer fitted on the south side now so panels may not be plausible..

I think it’s worth looking at. As for all the logistics I’d imagine speaking with a specialist would be advisable lol

We were thinking of both installing solar panels and fully reviewing the insulation currently in our house (a large property so financially worthwhile). However there's been a change of heart following the current incidents of urban terrorism on the M25 and at the port of Dover. It might be against my own interests but they've annoyed me so much I'm prepared to forgo any savings and do the precise opposite to what they want.

You can't let terrorists win and that's what I class them as.
