As we see start to see greater effects of global warming, we’re starting to see even more deflections and outrageous claims. There will be no sudden global realisation or epiphany. Just a casual walk into idiotic chaos.
Of all the many negative consequences of a Trump presidency, this is actually the one that least concerns me. We were doing eff all to begin with, America will do even less now. But the global collaborative effort it would have taken for the enormous reverse course we'd need to take was impossible before and marginally more impossible now. We were screwed either way.
Prices of day to day goods will start to creep as will utilities, at first it'll be called a temporary blip because of some easily blamed recent issue, but then it'll keep going past that, someone will do a comparative story 6 or 9 months on and ask what's happening and why, then it'll rise again but faster and that's when panic hits and hoarding starts.
Remember the great toilet roll and pasta surge of the covid pandemic? Childs play stuff, supermarkets cleared of all canned goods, a sudden run on gerry cans and water containers, water purifying tablets, and idiots butchering their neighbours solar panels. Then society crumbles and the blood starts flowing...

A lot of the reason why food prices are so high is climate driven and due to crap harvests because of unseasonal weather, but nobody wants to talk about that. It's easier to blame Putin and Brexit, which are factors, but not the whole story by a long shot.
