I thought Lescott was fine to be honest as where most of the back four defensively. Our distribution was awful though.

Lescott is a quality player who's lacking confidence at the moment, he's definatly improving though. His goals didn't mask his performances last season, his all round play was superb and it will be once he gets into the swing of things this season.

I hope so TB. I wonder if his game, and other people's, is being effected by all the [Poor language removed] that has surrounded our club since mid-summer?

Err, anyone want to mark the most dangerous striker in the world? No, ok then lets hope he scuffs his shot.

[Poor language removed] me mate, we lost two goals today because we were defensively naive, once again. Its not rocket science, marking a player who is good stops you from conceding goals.

We lost two goals because we sat back and let Liverpool come at us time and time again. Our ball retention was very poor and our tactical plan wasn't working. The defence can only handle so many attacks, they where being exposed.

It all good saying "mark the striker and he won't score" but in reality it's not that easy. This is a fast paced game we are talking about, anything can happen. As you said Torres is also a world class striker, he's unpredictable and some of his movement is just too good for defenders.

Lescott's individual performance was fine as where Yobo and Jags's. They bossed Torres for most of the game and kept him quiet. There's only so much you can do though under so much pressure.

Torres was miles open twice. Watch the game, he wasn't a ghost, he was left by docile defenders. I'm not going to defend them because they [Poor language removed] up again.

We had a tactical plan ? Our ball retention wasn`t just very poor it was non existent ! Everytime we cleared the ball it went straight to one of their players
Also I don`t think Lescotts performance was fine at all. He does not look fit. Whether this is a result of his surgery over the close season I don`t know but he looks like he is running through treacle. He has lost at least a yard of pace.
It is no good keeping somebody quiet for most of the game. Especially if he ends up scoring a couple of goals !

How was Torres quiet for most of the game though? He scored a third goal too, which was harshly taken away. He had the run of the park. If Liverpool had half decent players with him and Gerrard then we would have really been in trouble. Also Gerrard had an off game, so we were [Poor language removed] lucky for just the two.

Not going to paper over the cracks, we were [Poor language removed] and have been all season. Nothing more to say, surely?

Not really, we were crap, not gonna hide from that, nor am i going to defend it, but Moyes has come out after every defeat and said we are crap, hes not hidding from it, he cant put his finger on it, how can they even be the same players from last season?

But things will improve, they have got too and fecking sooon.

Funny that he can't put his finger on it, but every fan in the country knows what it is. The defenders are not defending. And they are not passing to the midfield. Is he stupid? He's going to be on 60k a week, he needs to earn that money.

Im fairly sure hes asked the defenders to defend, hardly his fault they are scoring own goals for fun and looking like 3 legged donkeys is it?

Mike he must take some of the blame, when we do well he gets the praise so why not get the brickbats as well.as I have said before we wont attract a better manager, but that neither makes him perfect or blameless(y)

Fair one !

I think they all need a kick up the arse - I'd have liked to see Moyes come out of the dressing room onto a Sky interview to announce that they were all getting together at 7 o'clock this morning for an extra few hours of fitness training - running around Finch Farrm until they Puke.

Followed by a light lunch in the staff canteen and straight back out there until the lecy on the floodlight meter key runs out to get the defence sorted in the basics of defending ! Defence however is everyones Job - not just the back 4 and the keeper.

Do you think moyes has them playing arsenal like football in training but on a match day we suddenly start hoofing it to a loan striker with no support? when the whole crowd can see we are getting taken apart but he doesnt change it till we are two nil down? i agree the players are [Poor language removed] but don't let moyes of that easy.

Well, with 2 former defenders in Moyes and Round in charge can we expect anything else?

I wonder this bit about Round. Let's face it last season after Irvine left Moyes was on his own. Was it as bad as it is now. Where was Round last season, yeh at Toon town and look at their [Poor language removed] record for last season and before. Is that it TBh I don't know now but I do know Toons were [Poor language removed] last season and he was a coach.

It could be a coincidence but our form dropped after Irvine left and has, bar a couple of blips, got steadily worse. I don't know about Round being responsible, because we were getting poorer before he joined. But maybe he's not the man to give the boys that extra belief and ability. He's quite a dour person from what I've seen. What with him and Moyes doing a dour double act, no wonder everyone is off key.

We need a funny man as Moyes' number 2. That's the way forward. Someone like Harry Hill would be my choice. Everytime Moyes comes over all [Poor language removed]' miserable, Harry could do a little joke to cheer the mood a little. Probably work a tonic.:D

Sorry, nothing really constructive to say.
