Makes no sense to me when we could have got bony. Valencia might do well for us but he's hardly going to be pushing rom If he can't even get in the west ham team.

As Neil said - 1st team football probably a factor.

Also, you're completely disregarding the fact that Valencia plays much more like our two other targets (Perez and Gabbiadini) than Bony does.

Koeman quite clearly wanted a pacey striker, not Bony, who can barely move.

To be honest I would have a different perception had we clearly been targeting him all summer.
Pretty certain that we only showed an interest when West Ham were hawking him around, and we'd failed to land any of our actual targets.
Not a great way to do business.

Seen a few places (can't remember where so not saying it's fact) reporting that we'd enquired about him earlier this week, which indicates to me (if true) that he was always our back up on Gabbiadini.

I understand we have an option to buy for £14m, I guess if he develops under RK then we will have a relative bargain come the end of the season. Whatever happened over the last few weeks, it's clear that transfer fees for the EPL are out of control and surely it's time to review the system, the window adds to the mayhem.

Money talks. Same with Remy - he won't always get a game as they have Benteke. At Everton Remy and Bony would have been getting minutes every single week without fail.

EH?

Macca mate you don't half talk some nonsense.

While I think Remy is a good player, he's played 14 games in two years...

Bony, also a good player, isn't similar in style to any of the players linked which suggests Koeman didn't want a target man.

Whoever came in was going to be as back up to Lukaku. How would they be guaranteed minutes week in week out?

Not seen anything at all linking us to him.

I'll have a look around. Saw a few places saying it this morning. I'll see if they're reputable.

Either way, it's been known he's been leaving West Ham all summer, they were just waiting to have Zaza in before letting him go...

Wish people would stop saying we could have had Bony. Why would he come to us and sit on the bench, when he can do that at city. Think about what some of yoy are saying.

and he doesn't at all fit the profile of any of the other forwards we were linked with, which to me suggests Koeman wanted a player who can actually sprint
