Enner Valencia

IMO he isnt the best footballer.
Koeman will use him as a 'Shane Long' type, running into the channels, putting pressure high up the field, winning free kicks.
He has not been brought in to score 20+ goals. he maybe pick up a few. I think hes better than Niasse, he wasnt a footballer!
i doubt we will sign him permanently, but have agreed a figure incase and there is no harm in that.
Our squad isnt massive but we have several players in forward positions who can play across the front line. Mirallas can play as a striker, got pace, trickery and can finish well.
i wouldnt say the transfer window has been a 10. however it isnt a 1. Probably a 7 ;)
We are in a better state now than end of the season, management team, brought key players in who are solid premier league players and we have already showed positive signs in the first 3 games, picking up 7pts and looking good for it.

I am not happy that we never added quality to centre midfield/striker. Although am kind of glad Spurs nipped in for Sissoko at £30m.
Hes decent but not THAT good.

Overall am still optimistic that Koeman will get the team well drilled and if we can continue our start into the next 4 games (all winnable) we will be looking very good for a top7 finish.

shane long is an excellent comparison and actually had his best season under koeman last year, he is deffo the profile we wanted but i suspect he was prob last on the profile list!

Oh well an Everton player for the forseeable, so good luck and prove everyone who thinks it was a bad deal wrong, hope to be vaulted good and proper come May

Now this one certainly looks like a panic addition. For a change I've actually seen one of our new signings play just prior to joining, (Bournemouth and Astra) and he looked distinctly average.

I'd still play him over kone though and if nothing else, he offers us pace and a decent work rate. He'll improve the squad marginally, but the failure to get a better player in is disappointing.

can you copy and paste please, wont open at work...

When you hold on to your best and lose one who really hasn’t been doing it for you, then it’s fair to say West Ham United have enjoyed a good transfer window.

Dimi Payet stays… Enner Valencia goes – that sounds great doesn’t it but before progressing the thought I will take a breath and stop.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is nobody’s fool. He enjoyed a great season – his first in the PL – at Southampton, sufficiently good for him to get the gig at Everton so he’s seen something in the player presumably that nobody else has worked out. Something he needs for the team he’s shaping.

And I for one will be following Enner’s progress over the rest of the season very closely because I remember his early days alongside Diafra Sakho when he looked the real deal.

Back to Koeman! It’s difficult to see that a manager of this quality would be interested in a no hoper although the Ecuador international does not look like either a winger or out and out striker to me or anyone else.

I believe he is a poacher – an in the hole operator getting on the end of things and it will be interesting to see how he is used.

To describe him as “useless” and “rubbish” is firstly wrong and secondly of no use to the boy’s confidence and I for one am glad he is getting a chance at a decent club particularly as I believe it will result in a permanent deal.

Like everyone else I’m pleased that he is on his way both for his sake and ours but don’t write the guy off – this could be the start of an ideal move not only for us but him!

In circumstances like these Ronald Koeman’s judgement should be trusted.

Not expecting anything whatsoever from our millionth transfer choice striker...so I guess he can only impress

or just reinforce what we all already know, the guys cack.

willing to give the lad a chance to see how he does
hopefully he's been brought in to prevent lukaku being marked out of games and do some of the running for him, in a two up front system
I think he could be a useful asset in that way

He will do better than you're expecting, mainly as you've wrote him off as dogshit.

He's not a Lukaku replacement, he's smaller and quicker. So he would be played in and around Lukaku, or out wide. He's fast and good at shooting from long distances, he does seem to struggle with the physical aspect of the English game however.

Not a lot of risk so we can only see. I think he's a Brahimi alternative rather than Lukaku.

If Lukaku is injured or continues to have a goal drought between now and January then we will have a problem though.
