Maybe, maybe not, but you don't know do you. Looks like we have already talked to his agent so he will have a clue what we are offering so the ball is in his court and at the moment things look quite promising.
None of us know. We're all speculating as usual on this forum but it's far more likely that this resolves in the customary way, for the reasons I specified, than in a way that would represent an anomoly. Just as all the attempts to lure such foreign based players resolved last summer.

Still think Koeman will take him, but i actually think we should, that game tonight was going nowhere but he sparked it, dont get me wrong he isnt amazing but you get what you pay for and for about 12m he is ok as an option for the bench and EL/League cup, like it or not we have to think about the extra games and the squad needs numbers

We will need a big squad if we're in Europe and if he's happy being a squad player I'd take him. Why not?

Don't judge the player by his name or past club, judge by his performances. He's invariably changed the game positively whenever he's been brought on. I thought he'd be terrible but he has been our most effective substitute this year so I wouldn't moan if we kept him.

This 100%. We play better when he is on the pitch, he's always positive with the ball and has a great work rate.

We're gonna need at least 3 strikers next season, could do worse than have Valencia as a back-up.

He was an excellent substitution again tonight. Presumably he's settled in the squad now and i have no qualms about retaining him for the coming season.

Dramatically changed the game tonight him coming on.
Its not the 1st time this season either . I get why some question paying £12-14 mil on him but he's tried and trusted now.
Every team needs squad players that are not defo starters , dont whinge but come in and help when called upon.
Howard Kendal knew the value in players like Kevin Richardson & Alan Harper , I think Valencia is looked upon the same.
Dont see a problem signing him up if Koeman wants him.

£12-£14m for this lad when Gueye was £7m. Has to be better across continent than him for that price if he's only a squad filler. £6m and it would be a yes for me. No one would pay £14m to West Ham for him.

On the one hand, I think he's got better with us and today he was good when he came on.

On the other hand, I think he's just a bit crap and get a bit disappointed when he comes on.

It's a tough one.
