3 goals. 1 assist. 1 chance created. Yours for only £12m quid. Not good enough. Not his fault, the lad tries hard but still, not good enough.
The lad has played bit parts all season and even then mostly from the bench. He couldn't and shouldn't ever be considered to run the attack up front but he is a great player to bring on when weve ran defences ragged for 70 mins. I hope we grab him, 12 million is about 5 too much... but ok ... the market will be nuts this summer anyway. If we use the Cleverley and Lennon money we could effectively swap him in. I cant help it...i really like the lad and to get rid of them 2 would be good business. Imo.

I can see where some people are coming from when they say not good enough but the prices that will be paid this summer will be ridiculous. So if we have a ready made player to come on late in a game then buy him and use him as that. Let's face it who will we be able to get that will be happy on the bench and being an impact sub for £12m these days? I'm sure someone will come back with some championship player or unknown foreign player but why spend on an unknown when you know what you've got for same money with valencia. He should never be thought of as a first choice but if we are going to succeed next season we need a squad capable of doing that and in my opinion he's a decent squad player and unfortunately you pay £12m for a squad player these days if you want to make it to the top.

£12m

He's had a good impact in pretty much every game he's come on in and brings something different to the side. Pace and energy. It also gets the best out of Rom.

However, we do need better for that amount of money you would think.

Ideally, a similar player (i.e. in style, tenacity etc) but who is either younger (so more potential) or just better all-round.

That being said if the price was £5-6m it'd be a no=brainer given the EL next season.

Instead of spending £12m on a bit part player, who will play less when we make any other signings, why not put that money towards a starter who could push Mirallas to the bench and have him as our back up?
Oxlade-Chamberlain has 12 months on his contract and wants to go to a club were he will be a regular, he could surely be got for the 15-20m bracket?

It's ok saying he's fine as an option from the bench, but what if our main striker gets injured for the season. Would we want this guy starting up front every week?

Not good enough for me I'm afraid.
