True that, I think some are a bit deluded if they think we can get him for less then 10, he hasnt exactly stunk, if we want him there will be a reason and Koeman will believe he can help Everton next season, West Ham know this.

Even if we dont sell Ross or Rom I can see clubs pushing the price expecting us to have a lot more to spend then most of the other Premier League teams next season
The negative of spouting about ambition.

Two minds on this.

On the one hand - has been effective in several games were we've needed him, and at the very least is a decent squad player. On the other - if we're really serious about kicking on then we need to be buying better players than him, even ones who'll be bench players. We want be be in a situation where we can field 11 quality players and have another 7 of similar quality to call on from the bench.

While this might be right its going to be hard to go from the squad we have now to one that has that fire power on the bench in one window, even with Moshiri money and the draw of playing under Koeman and in the Europa.

Lots of players in the same mould, we had Naismith who did the same job and sold off as we realised how much of a limited footballer he was.

If we want to challenge for the top four this guy isn't good enough whatsoever

Instead of spending £12m on a bit part player, who will play less when we make any other signings, why not put that money towards a starter who could push Mirallas to the bench and have him as our back up?
Oxlade-Chamberlain has 12 months on his contract and wants to go to a club were he will be a regular, he could surely be got for the 15-20m bracket?
Mate, i think the ox will have five or six of the top ten bidding for him, plus interest from Europe and China. Sadly, i think it will cost a bit more than £20m to get him?

i would keep him every time he has come on he has played well. not moaned about not playing. works hard. gets on with the players.

He may have the top teams in the league looking at him but he wants to be guaranteed games which the top ones won't do. If we are serious about becoming the big club then these are the players we need to convince, offer him more than Liverpool.
With 12 months left on the contract there is no way anyone will pay £35m, I value him at that if he had 5 years on his contract.
I was just using Oxlade-Chamberlain as an example of what could be available, instead of wasting £12m on a bit part player who will play less if we bring in others, use the £12m towards bringing in a starter, even if the starter costs £35m.

To be honest if Liverpool are willing to pay 35 I hope he goes there, as he isnt worth anything close to that and it will use (waste) a wack of the budget they have.

I know what you mean about the principal of not throwing small sums around on squad players, but use that coin to top up the offers on the main targets, but with some of the main players there will come a point when the offer is fine and even if we up it we still wont get the player. Example being Keane, if United want him us offering an extra 10 to Burnley and extra wages to the player still might not land him if he he wants CL football and they get it.

100% agree with not being able to get the player if he wont come, but that doesn't mean there aren't others available who can do a better job. Just because you can't get the main target doesn't mean buy a bench warmer, at least buy someone we think might be able to be a starter.
