Not knocking what he has done this season and the impact he has made in certain games but i wouldnt sign him. We need better quality.
I'd probably agree but he is starting to grow on me.

I think it's the fact that we play two up top towards the end of games and we (and especially Rom) are reaping the benefits.

If he's happy to stay and play as a back up as he has this season then yes, fine, sign him.

Not for that money though. Send him back and let it sit a while and go in with a smaller offer. With the money being thrown around st the moment 8 million isn't far away from what I'd pay, anymore and if he uncomfortable.

Only if he's happy in the role off the bench though, we don't need unhappy players full stop.

Useful player by all accounts, but I'd view him as this years Lennon, a player who came in and did a job, but who we shouldn't really be signing permanently.

Got to ask yourself, would any of the teams we want to usurp buy him for £14m. I'm almost certain none of them would. Save it and put it towards a top striker.

£14m? That the fee?

Blimey, no chance should we lob that the dildo twins. Hes a decent player, but a squad one.

The fact that West Ham saw him as surplus to requirements says it all for me. Like you say though, has done a good job this season and looked lively when he's come on but that's about his level for me.

I'll reiterate what I've said before: if Rom stays and we could get him for £10m or less, I say sign him as they have good link-up play. If Rom goes, he's not good enough to take centre stage so we should look elsewhere.

He's done a lot better than anyone expected, at the end of the day. Whether he stays or not, not one blue can fault him. Gives it 100% but has also produced goals, goalscoring chances and generally helped the team in every minute he's played.

Not sure he's really the level of player we should be aiming for but that said I wouldn't be angry if we signed him permanently. Assuming it wasn't the touted 14-15m, which is stupid, and he's okay with being a squad player.
