Enner Valencia

This is true but over the years several sides who have been going for CL have had far worse back up players on the bench, a starter week in week out no chance, but we do need back up players, especially with the extra games we will have next season. Rather have young back ups then old ones like we did years ago giving one last payday to the likes of Hibbert

£14m to buy Valencia at the end of the loan though mate. o_O

I understand your position it's a substantial sum. However you are unlikely to gain the sustained success we crave if you do not hazard large sums of cash, recent history proves this.
The question is does the manager want a good squad player who's already settled with us? If the answer is yes we should back him.
Whether our board regards £14m. as a prohibitively large sum of money may well indicate where our future lies.

Still think Valencia IMO mate hasn't done enough yet to convince me that he's good enough.

He's okay. Not great. Not really good enough.

He's no better than Kone ever was for us and for me that makes him not close to being good enough.

I'd much prefer either of the young lads playing instead.

Overall though if by some miracle Rom stays another season, we'll have Europe and be able to offer enough game time to have two quality strikers (Rom + 1). Because of this we should be able to attract someone better.

Once again I understand what your saying , but if we want to be a title chasing side, having the quality and depth of squad is imperative. He is a very useful player to have in the squad, and if he is happy and settled in performing that role then I think he will benefit us going forward.

I disagree. He's not good enough imo, but he's surely not that bad.

He's way better than kone.

3 goals and 2 assists in 422 minutes of football is actually pretty decent. He's not good enough for the first XI (or at least for the first XI we're aiming to assemble) but he's given us something different when he's come on and he's scored some key goals as well.

Keep it up Enner.
