Was the 14.5 what they wanted or what we agreed? If it was less then 10 I would take him, He seems better then Niasse and if Hull can stay up I can see them paying us that for him, 10 isn't much for a striker who you don't expect to start much but mainly use off the bench

Very handy little player to have, has always looked great off the bench.

£14.5m to sign him permanently though - who on earth agreed that?

Look at this logically for a second.
14.5m gets you Jordan Rhodes/Ross McCormack.

If he is happy to be an impact player, is 14.5 really that bad?
I agree years ago it would be massive but now..? I am not so sure.

If we didn't have so many areas that need fresh faces, I would take him on the cheap. We don't have the luxury of signing an impact sub for 14.5 mil right now.

end of the day it'll come down to what the manager wants, if he thinks valencia can be useful in europe and coming off the bench, then ok sure, for me i'm undecided, if it was for less than 14m i'd consider it, but we'll see what happens.

Summer will be interesting.

My biggest issue with him is that he is a very niche player for me. He is really quick and can wear down defenses late in games, but he is very situational. I like him though.

I also think it is endearing that Valencia accepts his role at the club. Most players would be complaining from the lack of game time. You need players like that in your squad that can sit on the periphery and be content, but we have other priorities first.
