Credit where it's due... though he is appalling one-on-one in defence. about 4-5 times v Arsenal they just ghosted by him on the wing like he wasn;t even there, leaving Coleman or Gana totally exposed. It would be better if he weren't, even, because then the defenders would be better positioned. Bad tactics perhaps to have in that situation. I don't think he works as a winger in a 4-2-3-1.

absolutely spot on and I mentioned a few days ago.i think we've missed Naismith and that type of player in particular. Give him a run of games and I've no doubt that he will get a couple of goals but also make a nuisance of himself opening up chances for others.
for all of the grief he took, there is no doubt that being able to put Naismith on the pitch would have benefited us in more than one match this season. He may have been limited, but he was a bulldog and would find the odd goal. We've missed that.

What is the buy out option if we decide to make the deal permanent ?, my memory is that it is quite low. He is very mobile, athletic and works hard for the team. In time I think he will add a few goals, but will never be prolific.

Most teams carry three or four strikers and I think he may be a decent option as third or fourth striker.

15m I think, so not really low mate

10M or less perhaps* buy. 15M = swerve.

*needs more evidence to warrant

From the BBC mate

Everton have signed West Ham striker Enner Valencia on a season-long loan, with the option of a permanent £14.5m move next summer.

The 26-year-old, who joined the Hammers from Pachuca for £12m in 2014, had held talks with Swansea on Wednesday.

But he will now link up with the Toffees on his return from international duty with Ecuador.

Valencia had made six appearances this season but was facing competition from new Hammers signing Simone Zaza.

Meanwhile, Everton have signed Sheffield United forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin for an undisclosed fee on a four-year deal.

The 19-year-old made 11 league appearances for the Blades, failing to score.

Too much for me then....(unless he proves to be completely boss in which case it is a steal - think that is rather unlikely though).

I've mentioned it before mate, even last season when we sold him we missed and I think if Martinez could go back in time he wouldn't have sold him. Let's remember we replaced him with Niasse who has contributed zilch in just under a year. We massively weakened ourselves by selling him, no matter how good the fee was.

I hope Valencia gets a nice little run and shows us what he can offer given half a chance

If he continues to work this hard I'd probably take him as a squad player, shift Kone Niasse etc

Would prefer it to be about half the price apparently arranged though.

Naimsith £8.5m who can play week in week out as a sub.

£13.5m for a player who can play for u23. It's Martinez's fault again.

Say what you will but he did 200x more than Lukaku did.

If you think about it, all Lukaku is, is Valencia minus his work rate, pace and aerial ability, add a bit of strength and better finishing. They're still both whack but Lukaku gets away with it because he scores goals.
