Enner Valencia

I'm a massive critic of the bloke over his personal issues (of which its still not clear imo), however he made a massive impact last night and I was happy to stand up and applaud him off.

Would love him to bag a goal for us on Monday in a memorable Everton win.
Nothing better than an on loan striker scoring against that lot. Ferguson header in 94 is still one of my faves :)

I think this fella has more talent than to just just be labled as a try hard

He does. He's not a bad player.

He isn't a great goal-scorer, though, so obviously that's an issue for a forward.

But what he does bring is pace, good aerial ability and tenacity - all of which we have lacked in forward areas.

The positions he takes up bring Rom into the game, and give our main man more space.

....at the risk of being a bit cynical, I'm always a bit wary of footballers who are playing for contracts or contract extension. Their form and work rate can significantly improve only for them to go back on easy street afterwards. To be fair, Valencia hasn't had many opportunities and I would hope he slips down the pecking order after this window but he did well last night.
Funny you say that mate as a few clients are WH season ticket holders. they asked about Valencia on Monday and thought I was taking the you-know-what when I said in his cameos so far he has looked bright and put a shift in! apparently for them he was an idle git most of the time.

I thought he looked good when he first signed for West Ham, him and Sakho did well together. Lost his way a bit with injuries/form and looked short on confidence.

Hopefully that performance last night will be a kick start for him. I think he's a good player

He did a few nice passes, one in the first half through to Lukaku who like a few times in the game, made the wrong decision.

I was very critical of him since we signed him and his goal record is poor. However he did well last night, worked very hard and helped bring the best out of Lukaku. As with one or two others that performance last night may have earned him if not a reprieve but an opportunity to change Koeman's mind on him.

There is also something unique and special about Goodison when it gets going under lights. Just like For Dennis against Manchester City it had that feel to it and may have a similar experience for Valencia. He knows he doesn't have to score goals every week to stay in the team and win the fans trust but just work his socks off which he looks prepared to do.

Did rather well last night. Even though I'm not fussed on him, he was an MoM contender, for me. Some good touches and can't remember him getting beat in the air.

Still wouldn't sign him, though.

Didn't want him but he did well last night and should start in the derby.

We still need a physical big striker in January someone who can hold the ball up and get others involved but its a good mix to have Valencia as a back up option to rom
