I want the bloke to be able to communicate with the players so learning or knowing English will be a good start. We're an English side after all. I don't like your poll though cos if I vote for that then it makes me look like I support that bellwhiff Tommy Robinson fella.
Edit: Just to clarify, it doesn't have to be his first language like. Koemans and Martinez' English was excellent.

Even Unsworth gets the question asked at the presser right now, and surely it's a debate about "the british manager", sake lads. If you're feeling badly ukip about saying an english-speaking manager is important, then i guess it's not important to you then :)

I speak better english than Koeman in addition to norwegian and polish :)
Cool. Well Koeman has you beat on that score (Dutch, German, Spanish, English) - not that ether is relevant.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with his English. Is he a native speaker? Clearly not. Does it impede his communication? Clearly not.

There’s a million sticks to beat the guy with. This is a truly bizarre one to pick.

If I remember correctly, Pochettino couldn't speak a word of English when he came over. Still did press conferences, but with a translator.
He didn't turn out too bad like did he........?

In what world does that make you better qualified to manage Everton?

Clearly the language alone doesn't decide. And as mentioned, the question was whether you think it's important or not. Because clearly, and you cannot deny it, the question of a british manager or an english-speaking manager vs. a foreign manager is getting to be a sort of big debate.

I'm not categorically for it, but i would rather prefer an eloquent manager to another lofty language butcher. Sure, Koeman was absolutely acceptable, but Unsworth is effing Cicero compared to him.

Pochettino couldn't speak a word of it when he first came and managed here. He's doing alright now...

As you see in the original post, i am fully aware of this! I'm just looking for the debate really, and i think it's good that most people find the english skills of a manager to be less relevant :)
