Genuinely would love it if Everton and the other 19 clubs all chipped in to pay Nantes the fee and Cardiff got booted back to the welsh league.

Why?

Nantes didnt die.

Its 2 football clubs fighting over money, take away the emotion and whilst its pretty grim, Cardiff paying some French club 15m wont bring back the 2 dead people.

Hope they go down and we are allowed a public vote for every person in the UK to kick Warnock up the arse. Poisonous club from top to bottom
This has absolutely nothing to do with Warnock he is the team manager and has nothing to do with contracts and transfer cash. I said earlier in this thread that the transfer payment will come down to legalities and that's how it's playing out, if they don't have to pay the money they won't, I know it's harsh but they're not a charity, business is business and I think there's more to come out about Mackay the agent and his part in all of this.

Despicable behaviour but unsurprising from Tan and his mouthpiece Colin. This was always likely to happen as soon as the tragic incident occurred. The likes of Tan was never voluntarily going to fork out £15+ for a player who would never play for them.

It wasn't too long ago Cardiff were about to go into administration over 15 million. Yes the PL is awash with money but you have to stay in it to be able to take advantage. You see how quickly Villa have gone backwards and had to get rid of big earners like Terry to stay afloat. Cardiff could easily become the next Portsmouth or Bolton off the back of a few bad deals.

This is not directly pointed at you by any means as you haven't really put anything that bad but a 15 million deal for Cardiff (their record) is the equivalent of a 45 million deal for us. You think the Mosh would just hand over that amount of cash if there was a viable way out of it? People can easily act aghast when it is with other people's money.

If they are arguing he wasn’t theirs then Nantes should sue them for causing the death of their player for flying him over unnecessarily when the deal wasn’t complete. Then give some of the compensation to his family.

Absolutely kin despicable from Cardiff refusing to pay up.

More than happy to proclaim him a "Bluebird for life" and mourn the loss of their player, have Warnock crying in front of the cameras and have the player pose with the shirt at the stadium, etc. You think if he'd have survived and banged in 20 goals this season they'd have been moaning about a dodgy contract?

Hope they go down.

Do Cardiff not have a 'contract Dave' ?
Showing him with a photo signing his deal etc ?
Or am I so naive that what they are signing isn't an actual contract at all ?
Yeah, those are just pieces of paper set up for the camera. Nothing official whatsoever about those 'contracts' being signed with the player posing with it.

Cardiff are still scum, though.

The contract lawyers are the only winners here. I suspect some compromise will be agreed with Cardiff paying only a proportion of the £15m

Nantes last year had revenues of around 45m€, so the £15m is a large sum for them. 3-4 of their first team squad are loanees, I think their record signing is only 8m€. So losing Sala was a big blow but not getting the money to invest is a bigger blow

So many sanctimonious and self righteous sentiments on this thread. Cardiff should act by the law. They have legitimate grievances that need to be tested by the governing bodies, if it's found they shouldn't pay then they definitely should not.

This fee is enormous by Cardiff's standards, they haven't acted wrongly by putting the genuine irregularities before the governing bodies, the premier league, refused the registration which means he wasn't registered, despite any photos produced here which mean nothing.

Nantes are not angels, using McKay his son and dodgy dealings to promote their player and maybe it comes back on them. It's for the governing bodies not social media to decide.

Lawyers know the law, social media posters are usually clueless and post on emotion.

That’s the agent son not the son that’s a registered Cardiff and weirdly former Doncaster player right ? Obviously he’s never played for Cardiff but they must have seen something in his loan deals at Ilkeston or airdrieonians to snap him up , a striker with 1 goal in 5 years you can see why they wanted him as a premier league club and I’m sure it isn’t linked to who his dad is .

I’ve no problem with anyone operating within the law but let’s not pretend Cardiff are a bastion of football decency, the signing of Mckays son has a smell about it .

I'm not pretending anything, its so black and white for some posters who can only see one side of the story.

Business isn't full of angels, you usually don't get to be a club owner by being highly moral and above board. If the insurer won't pay its usually for a reason like he wasn't actually registered (the premier league refused it) this isn't a small detail.

It and other grievances need to be tested properly and not take a blind bit of notice from the often ill informed noise on social media.

Look at our owners links to Usmanov etc, not many would have all their dirty washing scrutinised and come out smelling of roses.

Let the people qualified to do so, judge.
