It's a business and once he signed a contract with Cardiff, he became their property.

They've gotta pay something but maybe don't do this whole song and dance in the media while his family is searching for his body.

If I buy a vase from a shop, walk outside and drop it, the shop shouldn't have to refund it.

Same principle. It's a tragedy but Cardiff should pay.

In this case the said vase walked out of the shop itself and then smashed! I reckon they (or Cardiff's insurance company) are going over the contract with a fine-tooth comb to see if there is a way of getting out of it.

Finding a way of not paying the fee would be the biggest PR disaster in football since them Suarez tops

Agreed, but you can bet the insurance company doesn't want to pay up either and that happens up and down the country every day. If there is a technicality they can exploit then they will. My money is on a lawsuit against the agent/operator of the plane and I don't think anyone would cry if an agent has to fork out cash earned for practically bugger all.

Talk about insensitivity and bad timing.

Both clubs should wait, then get together and decide on a sum payable directly to the players family.

I wonder how long it will be until all the 9.11/Titanic conspiracy theories types get onto this and start coming up with all kinds of plots. I still think the body might be the pilot, can some some clown questioning if he was even on the flight

Worked on ships all my life and now in shipping, its not as easy as just sending an ROV down. I think their main concern will be not to lose the bodies. Heaven forbid they somehow get inside and the body or bodies go drifting away with the tide. 2 or 3 knots of tide and they'll be away in no time.
I read they're also thinking about recovering the plane itself. If the plane breaks up during recovery again the body or bodies could be lost.

I would imagine they'll send divers down, I think I read its 60 mtrs deep, there will be risk assessments to ensure the divers are safe to go inside the plane if need be.
As it happens I've just done a risk assessment here where I am for shallow water, its taken 3 days all told to get approval from the powers that be.

Also, it's still an accident investigation site, so I'd imagine the various transportation/accident review boards will have some say over how the recovery proceeds.
