Elstone refusing to allow shareholders who are also Blue Union members into meetings

When did I say he was a standard 18 year old? Standard 18 years olds don't go for £27m mate. I also highly doubt that any of those you list were straight cash deals apart from maybe Balotteli. You list players with Euros, players who cost nearly half what Rooney did and players 4 years older than him.

He was younger than all those you list and we still got the biggest fee. Does that not indicate that the fee was a good deal? You have zero substance in your last post. If anything you've cemented what I've said.

I left out ones that were reported as not being for straight cash, such as Reyes to Arsenal and Bale to Tottenham.

Whichever way you want to paint it, in the summer of 2004 Everton's ruthless negotiator brought in £10m to replace one of the best strikers in the world. The second installment didn't arrive to help the manager for another twelve months, and the rest might never have arrived at all if Chelsea and Arsenal had continued to finish above United.

Praise Bill.

In all honesty mate I'm not having a go, but I just can't get how people can't grasp that being a fantastic deal for our club. £20m+ profit in 2004. Figures unheard of at Everton. I can mock the board for a lot of things but not the Rooney deal. Rooneys agent and family made it quite clear to him IMO opinion - if you want to win things go to United. Payday for them all.

I can only comment as a fan, and having swapped potentially our greatest ever player for enough money to keep Kenwright in the boardroom and buy James Beattie I couldn't honestly say things went too well. Maybe I'd feel differently if the guaranteed £20m had been paid up front.

Tbh mate the Beattie deal was a Moyes one and he'd banged in 24 goals the previous season , if I remember rightly. He turned out to be crap. Agreed

What AGM?

By refusing to allow his presence at the meeting, he's denied himself the platform to counter some of the assertions being made by Dave Kelly et al. A cynic might therefore conclude that he's not got much to counter with.........hence the avoidance.

I'm sure Elstone is capable of maintaining order at a small invite only meeting, maybe he was scared Kelly would crush his hobnobs...

Seriously what would you expect from the club? No one relating to the BU will get a meeting with the club again, the BU made sure of that themselves. Can't see why anybody would expect different.

There was a pretty strong theory at the time that the Newcastle bid was just a 'stalking horse' bid to get Manyoo to open negotiations. Stretfords office, run by his son, was in St James Park and they were know to work closelebey with the then owners of Newcastle. I don't think Newcastle ever seriously contemplated signing Rooney, and Rooney certainly never contemplated signing for Newcastle. I suspect the Newcastle bid was..er...a 'phoney bid'.....
Steve it was a bit suspect newcastle put bid in while his new agent happened to have a office at the ground of newcastle might just be a coincedence like just to get unt in gear they had been linked for mths

Instead of pursuing the current board and putting a negative outlook on the club why not spend time looking for investors? The blue Union are carts mate and that's that. Most fans aren't happy with being skint but at least we ain't doin a West Ham or Pompey. Things need changing but it needs to be done properly. Most Evertonians understand that.
thats why i gave up.

the board and kenwright are a ****ing disgrace to our great club, not there club ...our club.

anyone who defends them on this are also a disgrace to our great club.

On the Rooney stuff the club massively benefited but plotting and deviousness was well underway without The clubs consent (or involvement maybe ) stretford and the rooneys were cutting out Peter mac because united were in the horizon and it wasn't the club pushing Rooney towards that door.

I don't blame the rooneys or even stretford for trying to earn a few quid (well I do but I can see their position slightly) but all this came out in the blackmail trial but everton plotting didn't because I'm not convinced it happened .

(read my posts I'm in no way a defender or supporter of BK)

Spot on mate,we are all hurting, but if you listen to people on forums you would think if Kenwright sells then every thing will be rosey.I believe most Evertonians have a more balanced view of the situation.

It's not, but instead of putting a negative outlook on the club why not do something positive. Why would the club allow these people back into meeting when they stabbed them in the back last time. To spread more negativity over the club? They'd be absolutely mad.

Agree with this. Everton need to the right thing and be positive toward blue Union, not a fan of BU because of the way they do things. The club need to understand the fans are not happy with the board. We dont need them to spend 30 million every season. What gets on my wick is.

Last of ideas at the top to find investments.
Not having the courage to back Moyes this Jan to fight for 4th and the f.a cup.

What are our men doing at the top today? the rs are using the moneyball, could be ****e but at least they have an approach but why is our sponsor money ****e compared to the rs?
