I don't think MG is that wide of the mark tbf.

The Kenwright lovers will jump all over him and they'll tell us everything at the club is fine and we must 'Believe' that big things await us.

The only thing that awaits us without a shake up is the Championship.

Oh no, hang on . . We're too big to go down, aren't we ?

Its just my viewpoint really, I see it how I see it. I dont wish to change peoples minds, I dont wish to convert people to my way of thinking, Im not even saying im right. Its just the way it looks to me.

It doesnt alter my view of the team, the manager, the players. Ive yet again gone out and re-newed my ST in the blind faith that this Summer will be "better" than last. That we can add some players of a high standard, that Moyes can again pull some rabbits out the hat and that the players in blue will again make me proud.

I suppose its all about standards. I set mine very high with regards Everton, im pleased with a 5th place finish, a Cup Final, considering our manager has had £4m net a season to spend, its nothing short of a miracle. It was a great season and we yet again showed everybody that we aint no flash in the pan. People are sitting up, our profile is high, now should be the time to kick on. Will we? I doubt it.

For some reason, and I know I should be....but I'm just not excited that we've been told that we will get 2-3 quality signings.

Oh FGS....

Lad, it was simply to make a point.

Why do you think Man u, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal win almost everything ?

Are they a better club than Everton ?

No, of course they aren't - but they do have alot more available funds than us.

The top 4 are light years ahead of us financially and now so are the teams around us and more scary, lesser teams like Sunderland and Portsmouth are now richer, do you think they will remain [Poor language removed] ?

The fact is we are falling behind financially and because of the way the game has changed in the last 10 years, this will eventually translate onto the pitch and our league position.

If you want to get carried away with a decent season or two and think our next step is the premier league title, fine, but don't expect everyone to get carried away with you.

The fact of the matter is that they are.

I don't know how to multi quote.

Premiership football is ALL about money and has been for a good few years.
The only club ever to break the top 4 stranglehold on the prem is Blackburn and they wouldn't have been able to do that without JW's millions.

Chelsea are a better club than Everton ?

Without mentioning finance, please explain this to me.

Better in what sense?

Better players? Check.

Champions League football every year? Check.

Top 2 contenders every year? Check.

But at the end of the day...all of this is possible because of their money, so I guess that's my whole argument out of the window........

So what? Better.... ..... ....

Team spirit! Ahh, we must be a better club then.

Our last five league positions. 4th. 11th, 6th, 5th and 5th.

That isn't relegation form. Simple as that.

And if teams like Bolton, Wigan and Fulham can stick around long term in the premier league, I don't think that we're so poor that we're going to get relegated, ffs.

The truth is we have a better manager than the likes of Sunderland and Man City and also a better team then they do. I'll take that.

A bit of cash would do nicely as well, but it's not the be all and end all.

I fully expect Moyes to win us a cup in the next couple of years.

Neither do I.
That isn't what I said and I fully expect to repeat this seasons good form again.

The point is, is that we are getting left behind financially and some seem to think that it's nothing to worry about, well in the short term it isn't, but it will be over the coming years.
Yes we have a better manager and team than all but the top 4 at the moment, but for how long ?

Cheers for the welcome mate.

Honestly as long as we hang onto Moyes, I'm pretty confident that we'll do okay. If Kenwright does nothing else, the fact that he brought him in and has kept him is worth some credit.

Long term, yeah we need more money. Noone is denying that but a lot can happen long term.

We might be bought by a rich arab, or a wage cap might be brought in or sky might go bust and the top 4 might stop attracting the top payers or England might become a commie state. I just don't think it's panic stations just yet. As far as I'm aware the Club is still looking for a buyer.

In the next decade? We are far more likely to win a trophy then end up in the Championship, as far as I'm concerned.

All this doom mongering is ignoring that we didn't exactly break the bank to get where we are now.
