It is a possibility, but it doesn't look good for someone's supposedly a genius. It makes him look incompetent at running a multinational conglomerate.
In a perfect world, it SHOULD tarnish his reputation, and no-one with good sense or logic would allow him near a government job.
But of course, we don't live in that world. We seem to live in a world where everything is opposite.

I agree... Or he'll just turn the attention to Tesla or SpaceX and big them up once X has completely been relegated to the rubbish bin...
And no one will remember Elon's failed little venture into Social Media. And they'll love him for it.

Twitter is just hate and bile. I am up for informed debate but, right wing nut jobs and conspiracy theorists are not for me.

That would be my thought, it's been a success for him in terms of subverting opinion and spreading fear and hatred. Much like GB News or Fox, the purpose for the evil owners is not to be profitable
Back to his ego again, I think he will really struggle to watch it (Twitter) publicly nose-dive. Expect mass sacking, backtracking and policy changes at some point.

On election day alone X saw a 15% jump in new user sign-up,so it looks in good on the face of it but it's not a place for honest debate and discussion these days,it's almost become like Trumps truth social.
Over time X and it's users will ultimately have nowhere else to go on the platform because it will have ceased to be what made it so successful in the first place and it will be a massive Right wing echo chamber.
X definitely will be this decades Myspace and end up in the dustbin...with the bit of luck.
