Sources tell me that during the next Earth-Mars transfer window Jordan Henderson will be going there to sort out homophobic Martians. Here we go!
Hopefully it's a one-way ticket, and Musk will the first and only person to go...I understand that we can build rockets and a space centre from which to launch the rockets to mars.
What I have never worked out is how they launch the rocket from mars back to earth.
Appreciate asking rocket science questions in a football forum is probably asking for trouble…
Smarty pantsI'd assume the first crewed flights won't he landing, same as with the moon. Go there to prove the distance is crossable before working out the logistics of landing. Whether we're in a place where fuel storage vs consumption problems & supplies etc concerns are solved I don't know. Elon Musk certainly thinks so, but he also thinks the Cybertruck was worth producing.
And long term, you also wouldn't need the same level of power required to launch back from Mars as the gravity is easier to overcome. In fact, I thought the clever plan for going Mars was always dependant on building a lunar launch station so the ships could start the journey without the need to burn so much fuel just to break Earth's atmosphere.
I really wish there wasn’t a swear filter on here
