Not a rumour but wishfull thinking more like. As a lot of you probably know, I'm a big fan of Eljerio Elia. He has been told by his current club Juventus that he doesn't have a future with them and will be allowed to leave.

Would be great if we could bring him to Goodison.

Is he just a slightly more talented/taller Royston Drenthe, id take him, but would Moyes?

He cetainly isn't a lesser player to Drenthe in my eyes, but without the baggage Royston carried. Can't think of him ever getting into trouble. Just made a very bad career choice joining Juventus. Not surprised it went wrong for him in Italy. Think the PL would be perfect for him.

Maybe a loan then considering what billycopper said.

He cost 9m euro only a season ago, so he's got to be out of our league.

Yes but he played more league minutes for Hamburg than he did for Juventus last season and he left Hamburg in August, so I think it is safe to say they don't rate him.

Think that price may have dropped dramatically tbf. They want shut and he wants out. No harm enquiring though, is there?

Maybe on a season long loan deal with option to buy.

This all day long, remember Pienaar moving to Dortmund? That went completely tits up and we got him for peanuts (if you will).

From what I've read he's handed in a transfer request and it's been accepted. I would imagine that both player and club would want to sever ties asap but, if there are no takers at Juve's valuation, it could turn into a situation like we've had with Yobo. He could be a very good signing but it's hard to imagine that a side from Germany or Spain wouldn't sniff a bargain at about 4-5m euro. It's probably only about £3m but I'd expect any funds we do have to be put towards securing Pienaar. Fingers crossed other clubs have different priorities and they leave the door open for us to bring him in on loan.
