He had a great first season at Hamburg and was also immense for FC Twente. Don't know were is went wrong for him this season, but don't think it can be dusted off as not settling down. As for the baggage, don't remember him ever causing problems anywhere, accept in opposing defences.

He's a lesser, Dutch version of Nani ain't he? From what I've seen of him thats the way he comes across.

If he goes to Wigan over us it has to be for financial reasons. I was referring more to Newcastle/Ben Arfa with the last point.

This is the problem with proffessional athletes - they have no taste. What's the point of supporting giant clubs? Especially as a player? Talk about trying to be like everyone else. Hats off to working men with love for the sport and the club they play for.

Looks set to leave Hamburg, with Juventus and a Turkish club interested. His agent has said he would prefer a move to England though. Wishful thinking of course but he would be a top signing for us, exactly what we need. Who knows, maybe if we manage to offload Yobo and Yakubu, we could afford his wages and raise the money for a loan fee...
