The newspaper report in their live transfer blog (Wednesday, 15:41) that the Toffees will pay a loan fee of around £1million for the 26-year-old France international.

The Mirror claim that Everton will have the option of making the move a permanent one for £15million in the summer.

It is said that Mangala is undergoing a medical at the club this afternoon, after choosing to join the Toffees over potential moves to Newcastle and West Ham.

Sam Allardyce reportedly wants to bring in defensive reinforcements, and Mangala’s ability to play both centre-back and left-back was a big draw.

Worth a punt IMO .... We are woefully short / old in the back and the lad may benefit from some regular play. If the report is to believed .... and IF he is a decent upgrade on Williams / Jags / Cuco ..... 15 mill is not a bad price for a starting CB in today's market

...amounts seem reasonable given his contract is up next year.

We got that through with 2 short old-ish CB last year. Keane and Mangala...seem balanced there.

Exactly. Been at the end of this tube's nonsense before.

"Messi would be a good signing"

Sir Alan: "Too small, wouldn't cut it in the premier league, you've shown yourself to be clueless by saying that"

Is it too late to enter him into the Everton Crank of the Year award?

Give that award to yourself chief.

Chatting absolute undies there

Personal I think its an awful move, we don't need a panic upgrade on Jags/ Williams, we need a really good player, just being better then them two is nothing special. Doing this is how we got Martina, is Walsh really that bad he has had months to find someone and all he can do us a city reject, 30 miles down the road

It would be ludicrous to play him at left back. He offers second to nothing going forward. Bet he's brought to be Holgate's partner.

Either way it doesn't make much sense to me.
