i like him and he's single handedly keeping our country from being a total laughing stock atm with regards to footy. He does blow a bit hot and cold though and comparing him to messi and ronaldo is a tad laughable. At his best there are few better but he's not consistant enough to be put in their bracket. his sher pace is breathtaking though and watching the RS trying to deal with him last week was laughable - then again phillip neville of all people managed to do it - hence hot and cold. He is too good for you though, way better than that overrated pile of shizer luka modric

he is also a diver, no defending that, i'm not one of these people who defends it as not a dive when there's contact though so virtually every footballer is a diver imo - sadly the rules advocate it

To be fair most of the comments from you fellas are pretty accurate - no arguments.
He is one of those players that is better when you see him actually in the flesh, i have had both Gooner & LFC colleagues come up to me over the last couple of weeks & say 'i didn't realise how good he actually is' after seeing him play their teams live.
Too good for us? - Unfortunately true, no CL this season & he will be off.
Goes down too easily? - yes, but funnily enough the last two 'dives' he was booked for were actually fouls! So swings & roundabouts i suppose.

I had the misfortune of seeing Bale up close in the 1 0 at Goodison last season.
Never before has an opposition player (apart from Liverpool's) enraged me so much. He's a cheat, and a whinging ****ehawk at the same time. Plus that heart celebration....

yeah they were fouls but also dives - but sadly the rules indicate a player is within his right to go down if there is contact made which is absured imo - it's encouraging diving. he needs to talk to stevie starfish gerrard who for years did the same dive time after time and got away with it. The rule that means spurs can't appeal the yellows is laughable

I'll forgive the fella anything after that game in the San Siro, losing 4-0, down to 10 men & me the only Yiddo in a block of Italians & Bale scores a hat-trick right in front of where i was sat. Even if/when he leaves that memory will be with me forever.
