EFC vs THFC - interesting trivia

I did actually mean the season we won the League. We pulverised them, that game and others were perfect examples of why we were World and European team of the year...un-'kin-stoppable. I remember Trevor Steven scoring a cracker.

IMO If Spurs weren't in London they would not be in the Prem, they would just be another club with a funny name, like Wednesday, North End, Orient.
They mostly did nothing before Bill Nic ( diamond geezzer ) and the odd cup after.
But all in all not the worst club or supporters in the Prem.

So that's Spurs taken care of.......

i would say that is comparible with us having neville, anichebe and hibbert out. no massive losses, suppose BAE and kaboul can be okay at times. why does AVB still pick gallas btw? caulker was quality last year for swansea and has been thus far, yet everytime gallas plays he makes a cock up - over the hill i think, caulker will be an england regular before too long

You really think so ? Personally think Parker has a very good influence on their team and i'd take him in our side any day.

I have a good feeling we're going to absolutely spank these.

Even though with Bale out, they'll probably play the very handy Sigurdsson who I would have in our team anyday.

good team spurs, would be very happy with a win, think we might be able to get a bit of luck from free kicks ect, but think we are in for yet another draw unless super kev is back.

Its a bonus that Bale is out as he's a quality player and not one of the ones I dislike, for me we need to watch Defoe as he's on one of his runs at the moment and can score out of nothing. Both teams can blow hot and cold though so it depends on who turns up on the day. Hopefully Mirallas is back for us and Jelavic can pick up some form.

i use to think he was very underated in his earlier career, but he doesn't do a lot for me anymore. a better option than a john obi milkel or lucas leiva but that's not exactly saying much. A fully fit gibson is a tad better for me and that's before he even joined us, can see why people rate parker though - much better than that useless tosh carrick that some man utd fans rave about

dembele looks some player him, impressive nearly every time i have seen him, dempsey looks to have settled in good as well.

think dempsey's been a bit gash as was expected imo. dembele has always been a class act at fulham and belgium, highlighted more now he's at spurs. siggurdson is an absolute class player who may become another quality midfielder ruined by spurs. If we get CL, i would love us to put a cheeky knock down big in for him. Would be perfect, especially if felli has to go. Great set pieces, scores boss free kicks, scores from range, has a great eye for a pass, he would just fit us perfectly behind the striker, would get at least double figures and still fairly young

Can we stop with the confidence? It terrifies me. I quietly believe we have a chance but these oft-repeated proclamations of a smashing feel wide of the mark and may come back to haunt a few of you.

Used to fear and loathe Spurs in equal measure given our recent (1985-2006) terrible record. It has been patchy since. I remember that horrendous game Moyes brought Hibbert on to defend a 1-1 to a tremendous chorus of boos and Jenas scored in injury time to inflict a 1-2 defeat. But I also remember the simply outstanding win with 10-men in 2006 at the lane. I was stuck in traffic getting home from Cornwall which ended up being a 10 hour journey. I didn't mind one bit once I heard the scores coming through on the radio (no fancy phones in them days ha ha). Followed it up with an equally impressive 1-3 the year after and generally have performed well against Spurs last few years. I think it will be an open and exciting game, they will give us a sterner test than Arsenal, who pretty much came to defend (especially given their early goal). Despite perceived defensive frailties they have two excellent keepers to call on (I'd bite their hands off to have Friedel, he'd be our #1 guaranteed). The battle of the attacking fullbacks will be very interesting indeed. Walker will give Baines serious problems without doubt.

3 points is a real must on Sunday. Hope we don't choke - and the best way to avoid that is by playing up our underdog credentials. We absolutely love that. Seeing ourselves as favourites has always led to painful disappointments.
