Thinking that as well, grown men wearing a shirt with a players name on the back is just wrong

I'm going to get this. Purely because I Havnt had a number on my kit since the number 10 who was my childhood idol (Arteta, not Drenthe!)

Main reason being it may be damn rare in 20-40 years time when I'm showing my kids old kits. If Gerard becomes the next Messi for Barca that makes it instantly fairly rare in the future, as well as the badge that never was (only lasted a season). Be a rare one me thinks.

Don't get me wrong, loved a name on the back as a kid and I can't wait to get a kit for the little one with a name on it. Just didn't think it was a thing with adults.

I wish I had a Cahill kit. I spent too much time as a kid going mental off Arteta kits. Got 3 number 6 kits and 2 number 10 kits aha. Think all I do now is go for the memory of players in 30 years time or something. Love to whip out the Baines kit in the future.

I would have thought the key to this scheme is probably not telling everyone on an internet forum how brilliant your idea is, making your shirt about as rare as a Liverpool shirt in Norway

Have had Ferguson, Kanchelskis, Unsworth then had a break until the last 3 season w/ Fellaini, Jelavic & Miralles

Waiting to see who gets the Number 12, 16 or 18.

But agree with Mogsy - a Deulofeu w/ the badge that's already gone down in history (ok, for the wrong reasons) could be a cracking kit to hand down to the rugrats one day.

Esp if one of our other kits are an absolute monstrosity...
