would he fit in the starting line-up at Manchester United? I would argue, yes, they would take him in a heartbeat.

Downing's not a better LB than Baines, but as with most of our players would get into the bitters' side quite comfortably.

Would Arsenal take Downing on their books? Arguably, yes

This Rawk's view on ronaldo, sorry downing

Hmmm I was sure I saw someone say it was on yesterday. Obviously getting it mixed up with that mental Suarez banner.

That Bucharesti banner is shocking. Bet they won't be dragged over the coals for that in the media - the worst thing all day. Probably because most younger people won't realise what it's about...

That banner has been doing the rounds for years, and I've never heard a peep about it in the media.

Maybe they just think it's top banter.

..............

where's that echo quote from dave ? is that a real quote ?

any1 who knows is that Bucharest banner has been knocking around a while, don't think it was flying yesterday, but it's been posted on here as an answer to the validation of "muderers" chants, and if that's resulted in uneducated blues complaining about flags that weren't flying yesterday then we're gonna start to look stupid aren't we ?

Can yourself or anyone give me insight to what happened? I'm really not sure. I was born in 93, I could look it up on Wikipedia, but it's best to get the truth from you guys.

well in short mate

Liverpool fans have been known to fly a flag of "Steaua Bucharest 1986" alongside a silhouette of the European cup

that's the year we would have had our best chance of winning the comp' in recent memory

it's a sly/cheeky dig at the fact that all English clubs would've been banned from Europe at the time

I don't know what came first though, the "murderers" chant or that banner

Okay, cheers for the info. But what's that ''murderers'' chant all about though?
