Wow.. This 'journalist' is CLEARLY a Kopite.. Even manages to get a dig at Hibbert into the article !!!
Look I'm sorry but Di Canios push on the ref after the sending off is equally as bad a spectacle for the game as Suarez going feral. They both merit the punishments near enough that they received respectively. Why is it so hard to accept that SUAREZ IS IN THE WRONG and needed punishing. He has needed punishing on several occasions, this will naturally increase the ban. Why can that not be the end of it?

The refs 'comedy' fall over made the Di Canio incident..

He will always be associated with that, and even in 20 years, when Suarez get mentioned, biting will bizarrely be the first thing many of us will think of.

My immediate thought is always Rodwell tbh. Then a catalogue of ludicrous incidents, many of which he escaped punishment. Then I volley the bejesus out of a door after longer than 30 seconds or so of thinking about it.

I thought the same.

Then, and I've probably thought about this too much, I wonder if some of the journalists out there are saying what the kopites want to hear, so they react in the way they do, and create more news.

LFC as a club need to stop the victimisation card, it plays to the lunatic fringe in the fan base and I can see their collective behaviour worsening to the point where they match the ridiculous lengths the sectarians of the Glasgow clubs do. I'm honestly expecting some crazy loner to send a bomb to the FA.

"Jimmy Case: I think the club should stick by him, wrong to bite but heat of the moment, personally I'm not too fond of Ivanović myself anyway!

Phil Thompson: Love Suarez but cannot defend the indefensible, 10-game ban at least, club bigger than any one person.

John Barnes: When things don’t go Luis Suarez’s way he gets very frustrated. He is the only one who can deal with it though. It does not reflect badly on Liverpool at all, it reflects badly on Luis Suarez"

The above from the Liverpool Echo site.

I remember Jimmy Sh*thouse Case finishing Geoff Nulty's career and I don't think a foul was given.

John Barnes - all I will say there: the nutters know where he lives.

This week Phil Thompson has risen tenfold in my estimation of him. Old school. Proper Kopite. Not this queer sick breed infesting the world.

I think one day a year we should celebrate Suarez Day by randomly biting Kopites. They seem to think it's harmless and preferable to most anything else. ;)

Yeah, I'm surprised to find myself in agreement with Thompson here. Never thought he'd be this one to speak absolute sense.

Mine is the rugby tackle on Heitinga. It just sums him up perfectly. He gets frustrated at someone marking him out of the play and thus resorts to a non-football action to cope. I actually laughed when I saw it, then shook my head as I don't understand how he's allowed to get away with such ridiculous actions, repeatedly. It's bizarre and would be hilarious if we didn't have to play against him.

They say it's because the rest of the league are scared of him, to be honest I am a bit. Not of his footballing ability like they claim but every time that they play us he will cause a serious injury to one of our players and get away with it. It's already happened this year to Mirallas, imagine how our season would have gone had Suarez not hurt him in the Goodison derby? For a start we'd have likely won that game, and how much time did Mirallas miss because of it? Not blaming that incident for the failure of our season, we've enough dropped points of our own making for that, but it is something to think about. It's ridiculous that they bang on about Aguero and McManaman not getting bans for their actions since Suarez has got a dozen such incidents he could have been pulled up on.

It's sheer lunacy that they claim he is subject to harsher scrutiny than others considering the amount of bannable offences he commits on the pitch and doesn't get done for.

Never been given a red in the Premier League. And they claim he's the victim of a witch hunt. Do me a favor.

Solid post :)

I tuned into this thread to see the latest and saw your post more or less first. Thought Alex Fergusson had broken radio silence, and went back a few pages expecting some ****ing excellent comments from him and explosions from the red balloons.

Can you imagine the disappointment...

Me too! Only a soundbite from Sir Alex can take this to the upper stratosphere now. I fully expect him to do it when he judges the time to be right.

I've got my jumbo bag of unopened Butterkist at the ready. And when it happens, I'll have Alan Partridges's voice in my head, saying, "Lovely stuff".

Or, "splendid and tremendous".

Christ, I love times like this.

1-2-3-4-5
once I went to Uruguay
6-7-8-9-10
then I came back home again
Why did you come back home?
Because he bit my forearm so
Which forearm did he bite?
This little forearm on my right.

Hahaha

Or

1,2,3,4,5 Suarez loves to cheat and dive
6,7,8,910 He's a racist and he bites grown men
Why does be cheat and bite?
Because his team are really shyte.
