Rodgers master class in inspiring the youth players: "The young players were very disappointing today".

Brendan doing what Brendan does best - attempting to cover his fat arse by deflecting the blame away from himself.

It's this trait that will eventually cost him the dressing room & thus his job....

How long til they start chanting for Rafael?

He has a point, I mean its not as if his hard-as-diamond-nails centre half just got ragged all over the place by someone who was playing non league football 18 months ago. Nor did he get out-thought tactically by a man whose entire backroom staff got fired, whose side had one point from eight games, and whose club could probably be bought and run (edit) for of a couple of seasons for what Coates cost. The only weak point was his young players, who let the rest of the team down.

Well damn.

What a pr1ck this bloke must be (RAWK):

Today is exactly the sort of game an Ashley Williams or a Shawcross would earn their coin in.

If we're in the later rounds of the Champions League then Williams, Shawcross, Jagielka - they'd get shown up. We're not though, and that's where we need to get back. For all the belief we have amongst ourselves that Skrtel or Coates are better than these players. They don't really show it enough against your typical battering ram centreforward.

We can complain about how backwards the English game is and how we've got technically superior centrebacks, but it doesn't really matter. We really do lack a warrior and an organiser at the back and it routintely hurts us.

Call me Bluenosed but Jagielka is no Shawcross or Williams - that's precisely why he has a fantastic record as an Everton player and has something like 15 caps for England - because he's not a Shawcross type footballer - and he obviously has no recollection of Torres being put in Jag's back pocket and there's surely no man alive who's ever watched football willing to accuse Torres of being a battering ram of a centreforward. This muppet needs taking outside and shooting.

Brilliant...

"Well he does have some Shankly qualities about him

He is here to rebuild. Shankly built the foundations. BR is doing the same thing in the modern era".

I love how they're touting the "our reserves/youth got beat" line - that side they put out was worth close on £100m and was by and large their first team.
