Yesterday French radio station RMC reported that Monaco's Lucas Ocampos could
STAY on loan at Marseille for another season despite interest from Premier League clubs Liverpool AND West Ham.
Italian site Tuttomercato (truly the Devil's work) then picked up on the story and pretty much carried it as their own, as per usual.
What happened next is a tall tale of how it's done during silly season, ladies and gentleman.
Out of thin air, The Telegraph produced this article:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...r-Lucas-Ocampos-linked-with-Anfield-move.html
The story had evolved slightly. Not only is Ocampos potentially staying at Marseille completely ignored but it's Liverpool's interest that is highlighted in the title ("Anfield move"). In addition, a £14m valuation has been dragged out of thin air. Liverpool have, apparently, also maintained their original interest in him back in 2011 (according to who?). Oh, and don't forget the "according to reports in Italy" - The Telegraph must be ashamed to cite their source (even Italians think it's a joke for information).
So there you have it, that's how it's done. If your RS mate texts you tomorrow saying "here lad, have you heard we're in for that Ocampos fella?", you can now tell them this tall tale from Bainesontoast.
