lol The Guardian writers love poking fun at Rodgers

Up in Liverpool, Brendan Rodgers has just put down the phone. He did so with a polite goodbye but once the receiver was safely back in its cradle, he kicked the desk very hard. The result? A very sore big toe that led to Brendan hopping around the room and swearing like a sailor whose bezkozyrka has just been blown overboard. The reason? Southampton said that while a neatly-stacked pile of £10m did look delightful, they believe that Nathaniel Clyne is worth another £5m more. Brendan was sure that £10m would be enough and that the extra could £5m could be spent on having his best quotes painted onto the walls around Anfield. He may have to ditch that idea now. Sigh. Poor Brendan.

Oh wow. What are the odds? :):):):):)

Slightly better than the incredible luck they have had over the past 50 years with European draws. They have had something well in excess of 65% of 2nd legs at home which is off the scale of probability for such things. (Everton's is 16-14 (53%) - excluding those where our Europa Group wins entitled us to a 2nd leg at home).

In any event if the post European game is at home that increases the possibility of a slip-up in a game they would, ordinarily, be favoured to win. Far better to play away from home (more likely to drop points anyway). I'd much rather be away post Europe.

Here's hoping all these suitors for Sterling are just messing them about with no intention of buying him. Wait till the great fall out comes - no offers and Sterling beside himself with rage. Some managers wouldn't want players with that kind of attitude anywhere near their team and, FWIW, I'm not convinced Sterling is of a high enough calibre to permit one to overlook those facets of his personality and bring him into a squad. He clearly comes with the potential to show discontent. As a comparator one can at least think of someone like Mirallas, an established international with CL pedigree, arguing he hasn't been picked enough or that he wants to move to a CL level club.

Nobody believes their [Poor language removed] hyperbole anymore except the lunatics inside their asylum :

That will hurt and no mistake. They will dismiss him as a no mark to try and save face but miss the delightful irony that a no mark rejecting them to win trophies instead is even worse.

There's a generation playing right now who can't remember a title winning Liverpool side.

It's ace and before long all their tithead bells in the media are replaced by the successful ex United players for the most prominent jobs, and the ones remaining have b list roles.

Just need to keep Rodgers there to complete the process really. Let their narcissism eat them from inside at the lack of attention, and isolate them further from the rest of the fans in the country.

The heaving cockmonkeys, long may they suffer.

And soon enough there will be a generation of players who can't remember a Champions League winning LFC side (there's already a generation of players who can't remember European Cup winning LFC side).

To quote Bart Scott: "CAN'T WAIT!"

nobody here as mentioned that he's actually a liverpool fan as well. i mean it takes some serious crap team to have one of their own supporters to turn them down for fenerbache to win trophies.

I'd imagine Agger tipped him off about Brodgers if that's the case.

There's no way Fenerbache would be able to offer anyway near the sort of financial package the RS could and would, simply winning a trophy or two in a minor league really wouldn't be enough to sway it.

Also if you're serious about your career as a defender you'd look at Brodgers past purchases and former players and the first question to come to mind would be "will he turn me into them". He's a second rate chancer and footballers and agents everywhere are waking up to it, even the orcs are stirring.

And he can't fail to fall over when approached by another adult male
