ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I think he's toast. He's a yes man with a Swansea mentality who's trying to copy the Shankley style while trying to say all the nice things to get the deludes on his side. To think they've gone from Rafael through Hodgeson and Dalglish to this pretender is amazing really. Agent John Henry, stand up and take the applause........

Said the exact same to my mate (who's a red) the other day. He sent me an e-mail saying "seen the letter Rodgers has sent to the fans, thanking them for their support in Europe the other night?" He couldn't see that he's just buying himself more time already.

West Ham have dropped there intrest in Carroll after he rejected there offer

So as predicted Newcastle is the only offer Liverpool have on the table

Lets hope the Magpies keep a cool head and leave them sweating

Exactly as we've said before , he's made a balls of it and he's been massively outmanoeuvred by Newvastle , this isn't like us with Pienaar as sours could ride the storm and afford to keep him (although there was another offer Pienaar may have had to take) whereas Carroll is on massive wages that Liverpool need to get off the books. From day one Newcastle I'm told have made it clear they won't up the bid and I don't think Rodgers can afford to have an unhappy disgruntled Carroll in his squad. Im enjoying it so far

What is he on at Liverpool?

What is newcastles bid?

Interesting developments. Hardly the money ball philosophy!

From a news source

The 22-year-old striker, who has scored only four times for his new club, has a deal worth £60,000 a week basic but he is also paid an additional £10,000 for his image rights and a further £5,000 for each appearance.

I think Newcastle have offered around 12m, Is that about right Sheedy?

Not sure about the figures on the wages but think he's taking around £80k a week . think Newcastle have offered about a loan with a view to a £12m deal but not locked in like west hams who had to sign if they'd stayed up, no way would they pay £2m loan fee though.

Looking around the internet at storys and some people are convinced he is refusing to leave Liverpool

How funny would that be,80k a week cost them 35m,Manager doesnt rate him and has basically isolated him from the squad and he refuses to go hahahahahahah

I can't see how they can keep him when without seeing him train the manager has basically said 'I don't rate you' , so if he lets him stay he'll sit there bemoaning his position and 'dripping poison' whilst costing him at least £320k a month without bonuses. This is the 'play' of an inexperienced manager he's totally overplayed his hand , they are going to have to bite the bullet I think.

23m loss on a player signed 18 months ago, Has to be the worst piece of transfer buisness in recent times

i'm expecting more of a loss than that to be honest. also not forgetting the wages he's drained out of them so far for no real return. reckon newcastle should wait till jan, may be able to get a better deal if they really want him. it's not as if they need him desperately, not sure why pardew would want him, would cost more than the two strikers (that would be ahead of him) combined. i expect rodgers to be forced to play him and he'll eventually be a relative success for the RS this season...it's just how it turns out for them

Relating that to us, we must have been delighted to get Arteta off the books as he was on 70k a week and way past his best for us.

The problem here for Liverpool is that they are not going to make 5 times what they paid for him.

Every signing they made last summer has stunk the house out. They have so much overpaid dead wood now.

Unless Borini turns out to be the next Torres they are looking another 8th place.

I also loved his quote that Liverpool are not at the level of last years Swansea yet.
