I still spontaneously laugh out loud about Crystanbul. I'm doing it right now - can't help it!

Best thing is, it's the very first thing I associate the word "Liverpool" with now, so whenever anyone brings up the subject with me my opening gambit is laughing in their face haha
Yeah when someone says RS I think of

Gerrard slipping
Crystanbul
Gerrard slipping
Clattenberg

I was up by Scotland on holiday. 17 of us go up every year. There's only 2 adult Evertonians and my 2 kids and the rest are Kopites. They were all in the kitchen huddled round an Ipad watching it. 1-0, 2-0, 3-0 oh bollocks. They were singing we want 4 we want 4 getting louder and louder and more bladdered. Suddenly it went very quiet. Went in to get a beer, 3-1 but still chirping away. Then 3-2 and the tone of their voice was filled with anxiety. 3-3 oh it easy beautiful, made my bloody holiday. Sat there quietly as they trudged back in the living room, trying to keep a straight face then I like to ask serious questions like "did you play well then" just waiting for someone to take the bait. Gave it 15 minutes then pissed myself laughing and buzzing off them. Brilliant night, funny 10 minutes.

I only got to the bolded part and started pissing myself laughing. I don't need to read the rest. Great laugh that mate.

I think this scenario is only one small step down from winning the lottery. Have they invited you next year?

Great reading.

We shall overcome

That is what I believe. Destiny is a funny thing. We can all say it's written, we can all say it's something we write for ourselves.

All I know is that we do what we have to and what we have to do is win.

So what does that entail? Some may be too young or possibly not born but once we smashed Crystal Palace 9-0. They were newly promoted at the time. We were playing a kind of football we are all used to seeing now. Going for it early and looking to blow teams away.

The scoreline suggests we did. Who am I to argue?

Can we do it again? Who knows? Will we go for it? Definitely. We are at the summit of the league and cannot control what will happen elsewhere. What we can do is go out there and play OUR game. Seeing the Chelsea round table still going makes me think we are still dwelling on the loss over the weekend. It's not one to forget as it will spur us on but it is one to cast aside and collectively move on from

[Poor language removed] the plastics. They won by virtue of a slip and a team attacking in the other half so open to anything going into their half. That stupid chest thumping grey haired halfwit can do one.

We are Liverpool. Just look at what we've achieved already. 7th to top? Seen that before? Nope... neither have I. 7th to top playing the kind of attacking football others would love to. Seen that before? Nope... neither have I. This penultimate match has everything riding on it in regards to whatever may come before it via others results but lets not lose sight of our team's achievement already.

Do I believe we will win the league? Yes. I have no reason to lose heart with the team that I love. I once said in a preview around a year or so ago that I wasn't sure what Brendan will do with us on the basis of a CV that had yet to be written.

He's filled in all the blanks. I believe. I'm not the only one.

Let's go forth and conquer

Oh yeah, nearly forgot, a bit about Crystal Palace. A bit of anti-Pulis team managed by Tony Pulis. They have a fanbase that makes a lot of noise and atmosphere when they are playing at home and credit to them for that. I think the travelling Kop will be ready for a decibel raising affair.

There can only be one winner there... us!

Round table LOL WTF.

You brought a tear to my eye there Tim. Having said that, I left my phone in my car this morning and when I realised 20 yards away what had happened, I had a tear in my eye then too. It smarted, this one.

Honestly, the football we were playing after that 2nd goal went in. That's as good as any side in Europe's played for a very long time I'd argue, save for the finishing touches. One touch stuff, with genuine swagger. It was like Brazil 82. And then the capitulation was too.

What a team. I'm with you in that affection for this side, just like that Brazil side is still imprinted upon me all those years later. In another 32 years I'll remember this one.

Every year mate, it's me and the wife who book it and then all her family chip in. It's a good laugh made all the greater by that game. I am sure our Man City game was a few days later ( or was it 3 days before? ) but again they were all huddled around whilst me and my boy watched it and honestly they were celebrating the title when Barkley had scored the opener. Yep a holiday mixed in with them screwing up a title was there for the taking made it a great week.

Didn't watch the chelsea game, stopped watching the palace game after rs went up 3-0. Every time I watch the derby, we either lose or draw. I think this means I should never watch Liverpool play any game, even against us.

i've enjoyed watching them this season tbh - mainly because of all the money i'm winning but also because i keep pissing myself laughing. they don't even have one player that i don't want to have the ball because he "may dig them out of a hole"

I think you should always commemorate the event by replaying that match when you're all together, once a year. I mean they'll be up for it right?

Good luck with the relegation battle koppites.I hope ye stay up for the good of the city like.Karmas a b***h (im not sure that word can be classed as a curse word seeing that it's also the official term for a female dog!) you patronising and condescending muppets.:)

i wasn't watching sadly. saw 3-0, had a shower, did what i usually did about fantasising the perfect result when i open up BBC and for once it actually happened. read people on GOT talking about suarez crying, thought it was a joke, then found out that dream situation had happened as well haha

i didn't watch the chelsea game either ffs, why couldn't i seen both of these happen in real time?

I didn't watch them at the time either

I waited till the end of the season, lest I jinx it
